Called in for lunch today, with 3 kids. Fantastic staff, fantastic service, fantastic beer (just the 1) fantastic food. Only had couple of wraps and two kiddie meals but was lovely, all the staff were so polite and friendly. ,

Excellent food. Far beyond pub grub. Top quality, good portions. Great beer, even though I'm a lager drinking softie. Good old fashiond boozer with a twist of top restaurant quality food. Will be back 100%

First visit today, won't be the last. To be honest it wouldn't really have drawn me in from the outside but we went with friends who recommended it. Very friendly staff, great service, excellent menu and the food was superb!

Went for our anniversary as others had raved about the Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. The starter of 'pig' hash was amazing, all of my favourite things in a bowl. The Sunday lunch looked fantastic, I had a crispy lamb wrap with homemade chunky chips, beautiful. Also the Aero mousse with rocky road was to die for. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Just had the 3 pie meal you get a chicken bacon leak pie has a nice smoke flavour a lamb shepherd pie the depth of flavour is scrumptious followed by a unbelievable steak pie all served with chips gravy and minted peas. If you love pie you got to give it a go

I love this pub! The food is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is exceptional. If you are looking for an honest to goodness, dyed in the wool, authentic, British pub in Derby, look no further!

Great pub with polite and friendly staff. Pub was busy at lunchtime so glad table booked for lunch. Meals for 4 people were all very tasty and with a perfect pint the lunch was great. Hope to be back again soon.

Service was quick, friendly, polite. Nice atmosphere. Beer was very good. The food was mixed. Deserts were large portions but perhaps not quite as high a quality as other places. But nice. Mains, steak sandwich was excellent. As were the onion rings and porky chips (chips and bacon bits). Derbyshire tapas was highly rated. The royal kebab was nice, probably fairly priced as was a good bit of meat but it felt like it needed something. Maybe mushrooms or something to make the skewers standout more. No real complaints from other party members. Perfectly nice pub food, personally for 2 of us I'd go for a couple of sandwiches and some extra onion rings/chips. Go for a cheeseboard for dessert. Definitely have a pint or three.

Best pub grub in derby, I have ate here many times over the past 5/6 years and always enjoyed our meals , which seem to get updated fairly often which is good. They always have a well stocked bar which hosts local ales from the famous dancing duck brewery . They make an effort with cleanliness here too , even the toilets are good on match days! The outside beer garden is lovely too considering it's fairly central location to town.

Didn't have food so 3 stars. We only go here occasionally when visiting Derby, but it's on our favourite list. The beer is kept exceptionally well (the real ale, I couldn't comment on the lagers etc), the staff are very friendly and it's a comfortable place to be. Highly recommended.

Second visit to this fantastic pub/restaurant. Onion soup this time and like the minestrone it was exceptional. I followed this up with the kebab main. Really recommend this place and I can't wait to visit again. Friend had a prawn starter followed by pies. He agreed the food and service was fantastic.
