Quiet literally the best restaurant in Derby, my favourite haunt. The food is always fresh and delicious. Fantastic small business, honestly don’t know why people go to the chain restaurants when you have this gem right in the heart of the city. Views are stunning and the building decor are stunning. Highly recommend.
Lovely restaurant food lovely staff extremely helpful and efficient. Would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic food , best steak my husband as ever had been a couple of times before , can't recommend it enough . Thankyou
The food was amazing, and so was the staff, very friendly and very sweet. Would definitely recommend and go there again.
Had a lovely family meal here and enjoyed the food and the impeccable service! Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Genuine and real place with fabulous views of the cathedral to top it all.
A little gem of a restaurant. Excellent food pleasant staff excellent service and reasonably priced.
Will definitely visit again when in Derby
We had a family meal a few weeks ago. There were around 8 of us. The food was lovely, service great. The table was ours all night!! No other sittings after ours. Good family restaurant! !
My partner was recommended the European by a friend and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and the restaurant itself was very quaint and full of character. Our waiter Giacomo was lovely and friendly.
Just had an amazing meal , prepared and cooked by the top chefs in Derby/Nottingham toto biene
Lovely meal and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back
There are not many places in this country I will order steak and know its going to be good, but this is one of them. Great service and atmosphere overlooking the cathedral.
The food was fantastic and value for money top service
This is my favourite restaurant hands down!! Went here with some friends. I had the black spaghetti, and the others had salmon and lasagne. Not one of us dissapointed. Excellent service tops off the enjoyable evening
Really liked this little restaurant! When walking in you don’t think it’s going to be great but definitely give it a chance! The food was great! Cozy dining. Really small but intimate. Would recommend!
In the U.K. we have thousands of “Italian” restaurants that aren’t really Italian. This place, however, is a REAL Italian place. Owned by Italians and with food cooked by Italians. Everything is authentic, and made just like they would be in the country.
The gnocchi and parmigiana were outstanding. I’ll 100% be coming back to this place again and again!
We were in Derby for the weekend and this restaurant was recommended to us by the receptionist at our hotel. The dining room just oozed of character and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were most friendly and the food was just perfect.
The wife and I spent the evening here. The service was fantastic the food was superb and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant itself is a lovely old building a little quirky but very intimate almost romantic. To find this place in the centre of Derby is a great find. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and meal.
Lovely place for Romantic Meal for two. Will definitely return . No draught beer but excellent wine list, bottled beer. Waitresses was on que and didn't have to ask for anything. Pasta dish was excellent, specials board as well.
Phenomenal food, the steak sauce was an existential experience !!! The space is small in a very cozy way. The price is on the high side but the quality you're getting for it is absolutely worth it. Amongst the best food I've had in my life, the chef himself talked to us briefly cuz it was end of the night, lovely experience, best birthday ever!!!
Lovely little place tucked away overlooking the Cathedral. Really enjoyed our meal here and the waiters were very nice. If you want an authentic Italian restaurant, this is the place to go. I would highly recommend.
Friendly service, excellent Steak with an outstanding Sauce, the sides only normal standard! In any case to recommend.
Wonderful food in a fabulous location, we had reserved the window table for a friend's special occasion. The staff were very friendly upon arrival and we requested that giacomo sang to our friend which he did so beautifully. No idea what he was singing about but it was done so beautifully and passionately it didn't matter. We ordered the starter and main the mushrooms to to start were delightful in a tomato based sauce on an English muffin. I had the fish which was tilapia and chose the cream sauce option the other was tomato and herb. The fish melted in your mouth and the sauce was Devine. The fish was served with seasonal vegetables and both dishes were hot. We all had puddings with 3 of the four of us having a glass of wine and the lunchtime bill came to £95. Oh And we all had a latte to finish Very good value, delicious food, great service and a wonderful view of the knife angel and the cathedral. We Will definitely be back.
Food is great and authentic Italian family run business
I have been several times and this restaurant never disappoints
Lovely Italian restaurant. Beautiful ambience, surroundings and food. Waiter even sings to you making for a perfect evening.!
Old school experience - staff really look after you, take their time to explain the different dishes and drinks. Food is exceptional, but reasonably priced. House wines are good, and in large bottles(!).
Very cosy atmosphere and a great antidote to the manufactured hospitality of some of the chains I could mention.
Highly recommended.
Top quality. The food was interesting and tasty. The staff attentive and friendly and we met the chef who is definitely Italian.
Not been here for literally decades but I'm glad to say nothing has changed and the amazing night I once had was still to be had. Great staff, fantastic food that couldn't be faulted in anyway, not to mention the actual venue. Quiet, romantic, and intimate. Highly recommended.
Recently had a Birthday meal with Friends.
The staff are superb and excellent hosts. The welcome is very warming and relaxing.
The food was beyond believe, well cooked tasty and plentiful. My fish dish was the best I have tasted. My wife's steak was melt in the mouth. There is a passion and care from the chef and this was shown in the meals served. Well worth the price.
I cannot believe the restaurant was not busy. It deserves to be. I for one will be returning.
Thank you for a great meal. The highlight of my birthday.
We hadn't been here for many years, so when one of our luncheon group suggested here, we had to come back to see how it had fared.Warm welcome, and soon in our seats. Orders taken swiftly, and plenty of advice given by Giacomo (what a guy he is). Drinks served, and food arrived around 10 minutes later. All was tasty and warm food was served hot. Plates cleared within minutes of everyone finishing, and mains appeared 2 by 2 again around 10 minutes later. All mains came with individual vegetable sides. The food again was tasty and of good size, but not overwhelming. Ever so often during our meal Giacomo made sure we were all enjoying our food and drink in a polite manner. One member of our party had mentioned that the atmosphere would be improved with a song. Giacomo waited until we had all finished eating, then came over and serenaded us with 2-3 Italian songs. Great touch. A 2 course lunch for sub £10, with great service. We will be back soon.
