5* food, in fact 5* for everything. Our waiter Zisham Okra was very helpful and polite. By far the best Indian meal I’ve ever had. The quality of the meat and the amount was amazing. I couldn’t finish all mine, so Zisham packed it all up for me, it was just too nice to leave. Huge starters, main meal, rice, naans and a drink for less than £30 for two. Will be back again very soon

We were the only group in but that's probably because it was a Tuesday evening but it was a bonus as we didn't wait long for our food. Thankyou to all the staff at Okra you helped make my birthday a great evening.

Food was delicious and an amazing menu for a pre theatre menu. Excellent quality for a reasonable price. Staff were really helpful when we needed disabled access and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely decor and spacious surroundings. Will definitely be visiting Okra each time we visit Derby now.

Been in the restaurant several times a truly wonderful experience with the most freshly prepared and cooked food staff are very good and recommend and explain the menu the resturant is bright and the decor is something else I can highly recommend this resturant and the cost is very competitive

I am so blown away that I am writing a review whilst I sit in the resturaunt. To put it simply, beautiful service, beautiful food, beautiful restaurant. I can't thank Okra/Ali enough.
My boyfriend took me here for a meal on Saturday night, as we were celebrating his new job. We hadn't booked so we expected a long wait time. The gentleman who welcomed us in was very polite and he went to see about a table, they managed to squeeze us in with only a 10/15 min wait. We were very impressed as it was fully booked for the evening.
The service we received with fantastic! Couldn't find a fault with it! We decided to go for a special deal that was a set price per person and 4 courses. It included dishes that were the chefs specials... We are very glad we did. Our meals were exquisite! There was no fault or complaint we could make on any of our food!
We will definitely be back again soon, and we shall be bringing friends/family.
Eating out is a big treat for us, and we never go to derby normally, but I feel we will be having a few more trips there now 😃

One of the best curry restaurants that I have visited. This is a far more 'fine dining' experience than you normally receive in a curry restaurant.
I was a solo business traveller for an over night stop in Derby.
There is plenty of space around the tables for discrete conversation, the waiting staff were excellent and were able to provide me with a great recommendation based on my taste.
I had two poppadoms with chutneys served in chinaware, rather than the normal pressed steel. Then I had a delicious lamb curry, rice and a naan. I had two large glasses of merlot which were reasonably priced at £5 each. The meal came to £40 for one person.
The restaurant is located near the theatres and centrally to the city, it is also just along the road from the popular Fat Cafe if you are looking for a follow on location. It took me only 10 minutes to walk from the also excellent Leonardo Hotel and the 'UKs safest carpark' if you are driving.
I can't recommend highly enough, definitely worthy of five stars.
I had a really lovely evening here. The waiter was amazing. Friendly and helpful. The kitchen dod what I asked and made my food very mild, as I had an operation on my stomach 8 weeks ago and not allowed spices.
The food was still delicious even without the spice.
The atmosphere was amazing. Peaceful. The decor was absolutely beautiful and felt calm and lovely 😍
I really reccomend this place for everything.
One complaint.. my husband enjoyed talking to the waiter too much and left me waiting at the table ready to leave for a while 😂🤣

Really nice place, we arrived just as the place opened and the staff were so courteous they seated us and served us drinks, the food was out of this world amazing and the place is well decorated and clean, each staff member take pride in there work and it’s not hard to see why! Will definitely be returning and maybe even ordering from here going forward.

Okra is one of our favourite restaurants in Derby. Fine dining Indian experience. Quite good vegan range (just ask waiter). Excellent service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend to all of the curry lovers.
Never been here before, but when in Derby again we will definitely come again. Fantastic staff, excellent food and I made a passing comment that we were in Derby for my partner's birthday , before you know it, out came cake, ice cream and a firework! Please give this place a try, I'm sure you'll not be disappointed.
