Beautiful pub near Lydden Hill race track. Stopped after a race day and lunch was lovely. Great service, nice pint of Harvey’s and a beautiful English pub atmosphere. Will come back again for dinner as the food was quality and the chef obviously takes care in what he/she does.
Tonight we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday. Beautiful food, clean plates, and the most amazing and attentive girls serving us. They were patient, professional and so polite. A real credit!! Really enjoyed the food. The wine was excellent too. A local gem!! Thank you. I booked online too which was
Visit 1: Had the pork tenderloin with roast potatoes, super tasty! Visit 2: Had the duck parfait to start, followed by the Cumberland sausage ring. Both meals were delicious.
Lovely family meal shared in a side room. Plenty of room in the pub for groups or casual visitors. Average prices and friendly staff. Worth booking even during the week. Large car park & outside seating too. WW2 memorabilia & photos of the RAF Hawkinge Spitfire pilots & ground crew.
Just had a Friday lunch time anniversary meal here. We tried the vegan options which were excellent, we had the banana blossom leaf fish and chips and the pakora burger. Kudos to the chef as it was all gorgeous including the seasonal fruit vegan crumble. Staff were really friendly and loved the loo
We didn’t eat here however our car did break down on the main road and a lovely man (who I assume owns The Jackdaw Inn) really helped us out by moving the car and making sure we were okay. We did go in for a drink and service was great and the vibe was very welcoming!
Really good value and attention to detail from staff. Wasn't rushed and enjoyed the meal. The honeycomb ice cream sundae was amazing. I'm still buzzing today. Thank you
After seeing their well allergy marked menu, we knew we had to visit, and it was well worth the trip. The four of us all had a different dish and we were all well pleased with our choices. Two of us are gluten free and were so happy with the number of options for main and dessert (there were also gl
Had Sunday lunch here with the family, one of the best meals we have had out in a while, the lamb was amazing, even better than the Pig at Bridge which I had lamb there, that wasn't very good at all. The little details I noticed that the toilets we're cleaned and bins emptied during the visit, Staff
Had the most amazing Sunday lunch last weekend! Food was excellent. Such attention to detail, really was the tastiest roast I have eaten out in a long while! Staff were so attentive and the atmosphere and surroundings were relaxing. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning soon.
Amazing place, staff really friendly, helpful and polite, nothing was too much bother. The food was excellent and not too badly priced. They also served a good pint. We stayed overnight in our camper through Brit stops. Thoroughly recommended, we will definitely be back and have recommended it to s
Excellent food and good beer. They have a good range of gluten free and vegan options. The gluten free fish gujons had an incredibly light tempura batter. I also had a risotto which was perfect! Very friendly staff, and overall a good atmosphere. In the summer the garden at the back is lovely, and
Stopped for a bit of lunch, and we are glad we did. Food was excellent and the beer was good. 100 times better than the last time we ate here. Would recommend jackdaw to anyone 11/10 👌👌👌
What a fabulous surprise, we had a very enjoyable, high quality meal with pleasant, friendly service and a beautiful sunny evening in their lovely pub garden. The food here is terrific, from the roasted chick peas in the starter to an original salmon caesar salad, it was all perfect. I want to go
We really enjoyed our trip to the Jackdaw and were made welcome. The staff were attentive, the food was tasty and the pub is quaint and well laid out. There's a really nice looking beer garden and plenty of parking.
Used here on and off for years. Not recently for food but when we all popped in for drink and thought we will look at Sunday lunch food menu it would have worked out expensive for the 5 of us. Will try food one eve with the wife. We had a nice pint in the pub. Friendly happy staff
We pop in on the off chance they could fit just my mama and I in for dinner this even. After checking their booking very swiftly we were taken to our table. I had the deepest full meat laden pie I have ever had in a pub. Mama had a delicious tradition fish and chips. We finished off with just a hot
Two of us are coeliac and we’re so pleased that we could have gluten free fish and chips!! Which were absolutely delicious! Lovely little pub too and really nice atmosphere
