We always love coming here, great food, great staff :) I find if you come when it is busy your service may not be as quick as you like and some people leave bad reviews because of this. I have never had a problem with staff or food here and have been seated all over including the play area (we sit in it often because of my little girl) so am happy to give a 5* review and recommend people go especially in the daytime to get the 2 mains for £8.99 deal and a refillable soft drink for less than £3 :) It also pays to have a points card to get other deals sent to your email like... a free bottle of wine.. for example :)

Well, where do I start? Our daughter has food allergies and the staff were bending over backwards not only to help, but came over, sat down with us to discuss ways to improve on the already good job they were doing. Separate fryers and food preparation areas. Supervised prep to guard against him cross contamination. Stuart, I commend you and all your staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
we had a group of 10 for my daughter's 8th Birthday. I can't thank the staff enough for making het birthday that extra bit special. Stuart in particular went out of his way to treat her and my son. it was a perfect end to her day. and thanks to jade who was serving us. all staff really polite and welcoming. we will definitely be back ���
1st time there today with my son..We had a lovely meal..staff was very friendly..Even got speaking to a lovely old couple on the next table..Would recommend this place and will defo be going back again x
Had family Birthday meal here , 11 adults 5 children. Service was great , all starters came at same time, asdid main meals , food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meals. The young slim man with beard (sorry didn’t get his name) who served us did everything he could to help us. Provided cutlery and plates for Birthday cake and was really polite and helpful. Would I recommend it? Yes! Top marks . Thankyou to all staff and chef who came out to help us cut the rather large cake , and waitress who kindly took our group photos .

I am thrilled to give Stable Gate a 5* for their service, and delicious food. My husband and I had the light lunch menu yesterday 8th June . I had the Mexican chilli and my husband had the South western burger and starters consisting of garlic breaded mushrooms and potato skins - DELICIOUS ! Highly recommend �
We went here for my birthday meal out with the family , we have never been here before however it was lovely the staff in particularly Stuart K he was outstanding he was very nice , helpful and welcoming he didn’t rush us and had time for us to decide on what drinks and food to have and even gave us advice on which drink to have made it a better experience thank you for making our experience that much better . The food was good portions sizes and very tasty.The only thing that knocked the stars down on the food was because we ordered a strawberry smashed Sunday dessert and didn’t get it we waited for it but it didn’t come so we left without it including my nephew who also enjoyed the soft play area , we will definitely come here again in the future and I will also recommend it to all my family and friends.
No drama. Ordered fish and chips. First one arrived and was cold. Reported this to the server and it was replaced. No issue. No question. Second one was great. Offered free desert. Manager came and apologised as well. Customer service at its best.
A touch better than some places I've been to! Food was excellent! I had a curry and my mate had fish and chips! We both really enjoyed it! Two meals for less than £12 and as much coffee as you wanted, and Tea too!
A large place with plenty of parking. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Cannot fault the quick service - we ordered our meal and it had arrived within 15 minutes, especially with us being part of a large group. The food was ok - you get what you pay for. There is a large play area for children too, which is great to see.
I live locally, and had we had friends stay 1 night, so we joined them for breakfast.
I travel a heck of a lot and use the Premier Inn regularly.
This Brewers Fayre who supplies the food for the meal deals has to be the best.
The breakfast was superb. No waiting for refilling of the hot food trays. Courteous when stopping one girl to fill the milk in the coffee machine, and right down to having a group of happy workers looking after everyone.
And all the food was fabulous, especially on a Saturday and at 10 am, which is regarded as part of the busiest time for breakfast.

Food was absolutely delicious, bacon looks burnt but it had a beautiful smokey flavour to it. Paid £9.50 each and we got unlimited drinks and food from cooked and continental breakfast. Loads on offer and not a single bad word to say. All the staff were so kind and lovely to be around, especially Helen. 5 stars, will be coming again very soon
If you’re going for a cheap tea with the kids, this place is brilliant. We had the carvery which was delicious - it also included unlimited veg and potatoes. It was super reasonably priced and the kids could play in the play area which meant it was a pleasant experience for us all.
The staff are so helpful and friendly - it must be a tough gig with it being quite loud and kid friendly, but they were really calm and professional.
Really nice place. My daughter and her family took me for my birthday. They put up a banner and balloons for me. Food was lovely and the cocktails great we went through the whole cocktail menu. Well it is 2 for a tenner. This photo is of a guy celebrating his birthday too.

Decided to take my hubby out for Father's Day but had not booked anywhere. I looked at the usual restaurants we frequent but all were booked up. After googling local pubs with food, The Stable Gate came up. We hadn't been for about 10 years as it was very poor the last time we went but as it was the kind of "last resort", I thought we would give it a go. I booked online an hour before. Expecting absolute chaos, I was very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted and seated immediately. The menu catered of all of our tastes, even our very fussy daughter found she had a few options to chose from as they had some different dishes to the usual pub grub. They hadn't run out of anything either, which is unusual on such a busy day especially as we had booked later in the day. I opted for the carvery and I'm so glad I did, the fresh meat was hot and delicious as was the large variety of veg. Hubby chose the trio of pies. The other food came out very quickly and was piping hot and delicious. The service was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The whole experience left us all very full and very happy. My hubby enjoyed his Father's Day even more because of this. Thinking of how chaotic I expected it to be, to in reality, how well everything was managed and how fabulous the service was from all staff, has certainly changed our view of The Stable Gate and we will certainly be returning very soon.
It was our Golden Wedding meal with all the family. Manager and staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a whole room reserved for us as the meal was for 22 people and tables and decor looked lovely. The staff coped really well in view of the numbers involved. A big thank you to all the staff and not forgetting the chef.
I went for breakfast recently with a friend and had a lovely visit. We had two babies with us. There was plenty of space for prams. It was a really relaxed atmosphere, we didn’t feel rushed which was great when needing to pause to feed the babies. The unlimited teas and coffees was great too - it was nice to be able to sit and enjoy a relaxed breakfast with plenty of refreshments. We were served by Leah B who was really welcoming and friendly. Our breakfast was made fresh to order and was delicious!

Visited the Stable Gate for breakfast a few times over the past year or so. I believe it’s linked to the Premier Inn next door but you can also just walk in without having stayed at the hotel.
It’s currently £9.99 for unlimited breakfast items, including pastries, pancakes, croissants, fruit, cereal and yogurts. There’s also a cooked breakfast buffet with all the usuals.
It’s decent for the price and they have a good range but it’s not anything super exciting.
Went mid week, it was busy but all the staff where really friendly and helpful.
The kids played in the play centre which they really enjoyed.
All the food came out quickly and pipping hot, was lovely and at a great price.
The staff couldn't do enough for you, even though they was rushed off their feet as it was busy the service wasn't compromised, defiantly be back for a mid week treat and the kids enjoyed themselves.

Grandson loved the soft play area. He also loved the pasta with 10 veg. We all ate 4 adults and came away totally satisfied 👍👍👍. Would definitely recommend 👌
