Had a beautiful meal yesterday, the lamb shank and pie (peppered pork and chicken) were delicious and we ate every morsel. The service and ambience were spot on. As the lemon merringue pie had run out we opted for the Valentines sharing dessert which was beautifully presented and tasted just as good. It was our first visit but definitely won't be the last. Well recommended.

What a lovely place! Beautiful food and the best service. The children's meals were excellent. The vegetarian options were varied and delicious. The brisket was heavenly. Highly recommended!

Stopped here with fellow members of a car club - its a great location just a stones throw from J22 of the M62 The car park is just right for us to line our cars up + take group photos And the cafe was just perfect for a Sunday morning tea + toast

Very cosy country pub in the Pennines above Oldham. There is a nice farm shop too. Well worth a stop and a drink. Good service and prices. Great views. Thanks.

Amazing food in a stunningly picturesque location! We've both driven past this pub many times but never stopped for food, but we'll definitely be stopping again after this! I had the peppered steak pie, my girlfriend had the meat platter (and took half home for the next day's lunch!) And we shared the mozzarella sticks. It all tasted amazingly! The peppered steak was flavoured and cooked perfectly, the steak fell apart! All the platters individual components were incredible too, and put together was the perfect feast! Neither of us have ever had cold beef that tender before! Perfection! I'd definitely recommend more people to stop here for food rather than driving past!

Late afternoon visit after a walk. Dog friendly, old style local bub with a farm shop attached. Great food, service and atmosphere, would recommend to most but not a rowdy town establishment.

We arrived a little early for our reservation but was showed through to a table. Drinks and menus were given almost straight away (despite not officially being open yet). A hard choice for us both as everything sounded delicious! I went for the Pie of the Day which was chicken, ham (unsmoked) and vegetable. This came with roasted and boiled vegetables, the best chips we have ever tasted (we want the recipe!) and gravy. My partner went for the burger which came with the same amazing chips and onion rings. It was absolutely delicious. It was a very homely atmosphere with fires in every 'room' and it smelled of candles and incense, which personally was a lovely touch. We were made to feel important and welcome despite arriving too early. I would recommend this Inn to anyone and everyone. Also we definitely want to come back! Ps the views are amazing! In the car park you can see a nearby reservoir, it's beautiful.

Absolutely loved our visits to The Rams Head Inn. Food is always delicious, and served beautifully. Owner and staff are always there to help make recommendations, and they are very attentive. I particularly loved their lamb dish, which was divine! Plenty of parking outside, and easy to find! Beautiful views of the countryside, and well worth a visit! I will be sure to be back again soon!!

Amazing pub / restaurant, with extremely friendly staff and would highly recommend to anyone. The food is simply amazing and majority of it locally produced. Cracking beers of offer and a great wine list too. Great for all sorts of groups and during the day a nice pit stop for walkers and cyclists (none muddy ones). It also boosts a farm shop and although I've not bought anything...I certainly will in the future. The only con would be it's in the middle of nowhere.

After a 15km trek over the moors on a frozen and wet day, this could not have hit the spot any better. I walked in to the warmest place. Not just aesthetically, but actually. The log fired pot belly stove radiated warmth that was just calling my name. And after a great meal, I bought a few wee extras from a fantastic collection of locally produced foods. I'll be back, absolutely.

The roast needs mash! And I feel £7.95 for a dessert is a little steep. 😳 Other than that, food is well presented and good quality 👍

The Ram's Head never disappoints. Been a while since we came but just had another lovely meal. I feel this is still a much undiscovered gem. Only £6 or £7 in a taxi from Uppermill, Shaw, Milnrow and you're in the middle of the hills, great scenary, lovely food and great service. No excuse not to pay a visit. This is pub food done right and well. A menu which has enough choice to suit all but isn't massive to suggest there's no love or care in the cooking. Tanya greeted us and was our server but more of a host. I genuinely cannot say enough good things. Tanya was friendly and welcoming and exactly right for the place. Knowing her stuff, knowing the menu and having the confidence and ease. We felt relaxed and unpressured to enjoy a nice 3 courses (4 if you include the nibbles we had first). The farm shop attached to the pub / restaurant is also excellent. Our friend (by now) let me wander the shop and add a few goodies to our restaurant bill in between mains and dessert. Thanks for a lovely meal and drinks. There's a massive car park, outdoor picnic tables with lovely views of the fields and random. Horses pottering nearby. Just as good in the roaring wind as it is in full sun! Unlike us, please remember to take cash or ask to add on a tip before getting the card machine as they don't automatically add service (which is a nice novelty these days) and there's no option on the machine. Sorry Tanya, I'll tip twice next time.
