Came here yesterday 15.10.17 for a birthday meal. Travelled from Mansfield.
The food was fab! And the young lads that serve were very helpful professional and polite.
Was very busy but still great service!
Would highly recommend!
It was my belated 50th dinner yesterday (Saturday), and we decided to go to where we knew and loved.
There were 3 gorgeous dogs in the bar area which started the night off (being a huge dog-lover! �), so after having a tickle, we sat down for drinks. Called through slightly later than booking and had to wait a little while for dinner but as it was all freshly cooked, it was no problem. We had steaks, ribs, chicken, lasagne and a triple-stack burger. Absolutely everything was cooked and presented beautifully and all brought out together. Steaks can be hit and miss sometimes in restaurants, but those who ordered this weren't disappointed. Chicken was moist, too.
Puddings were lovely and presented well.
Staff, although very young, were all well-dressed, polite and super-helpful.
Had a lovely night and sorry if we were a little too loud with the laughter!
Booked in for a birthday family meal here on friday 29th, all 14 of us found the meal and service excellent. We've been coming here for many years and never had a bad experience.
We went to Denby lodge last night for my 40th birthday party. There was 53 of us and not one complaint was made. The food was beautiful,on time and the staff were excellent! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody for either a large or small party

We were out for a drive new years day. Popped in for a drink. Ended up having a meal which was first class and the service and atmosphere were top class. Will definitely go again
Lovely place, service exceptional, food very good. All in all highly recommended, we will certainly be going back.
New years day. Just called in on the off chance for a drink and something to eat, we were told that everything was booked up but they had a no show on a table for four so we were offered that. The table was set for celebrations with trimmings and crackers. We had a shortened sunday menu but quite a good choice including sunday roasts. I ordered the pie of the day and my partner ordered blade of beef, both meals looked and tasted very nice, being hot and well portioned. Service was very good with short waiting times. Desert/puddings were also well portioned and very nice. I made a compliment about the food to the waitress and told her that this was not usual for me. Would definitely go again. The full menu is very good and reasonably priced (mains ranging between £9 - £20 approx) for a pub with a nice atmosphere.
Decent pub grub - nothing fancy but cooked well. Service and staff were excellent.
Was a bit quiet for a Saturday tea time.
Absolutely lovely place not been for 30 years but what a clean smart place great looking eating areas, the food and service was exemplary well done to the staff booking recommended but I turned up and found a table no problem food is A1,sorry for the ketchup and mayo lol

I visit here regularly as it's a nice 45-minute walk to get there after a day stuck looking at a computer screen. Very nice place, a lovely calm atmosphere. I'd visit anytime.
Unbelievably fast service! We visited at a very quiet time, but I still have no idea how they managed to get our orders out so quick. The food was fantastic too so they definitely didn't skimp on the quality to up the speed! A huge recommendation if you're in the area
We had a great family party at Denby Lodge. Relaxed dining, good food, presented well by keen staff. The menu has something for everyone with steaks something of a 'star' selection. So, a lovely evening. Why 4 stars? While we were eating our main course we noticed smoke in the next dining area. Air quality deteriorated dramatically and affected breathing. I looked for the fire exit.......seriously! The smoke increased - as a second 'sizzling' meal wafted through the dining area. We asked the waitress who was hurrying passed out table what on earth was happening ....... "I'm going to open the outside door". Cold air rushed in thankfully. I was still coughing. It started to clear only for diners around us to discuss how cold it was!
So, please Denby Lodge.......ditch the 'sizzling' meals and keep air quality good for everyone.
Had a family get together for my 60th birthday and there was 25 of us. Spoke to Sally to book it and we pre ordered starters and mains. The service was great. Food was served quickly and was fresh and hot on arrival. Between us we had a varied choice of the menu and it was clean plates all round. Thank you to the staff and chef for making my birthday such a lovely occasion. Can highly recommend.
Excellent menu. Good hot food and portion size. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Speedy friendly service. Would dine here again.
