Second visit to this pub to stay over night, wasn't disappointed. Excellent situation for catching the bus into York, cheaper and more relaxing to go on the bus that to take your car. Food was great and the menu on the night was a little different from the normal pub grub, had special deals on for the night. The rooms were comfortable, but you do get a bit of noise if you leave the window open as it's on a busy road. Overall worth a visit.

Spent one night, had dinner and breakfast there and was very happy with room and the food. Clean, comfortable, well appointed room. And good selection and deliciously prepared food! Close to York and reasonably priced.
Perfect place to stay for York York races and outlet.stayed last night in a lovely clean and comfortable room.excellent food and staff were polite and friendly..highly recommend a stay which we will be visiting again in near future �

We were site seeing from Canada for stuff about my family and came upon the White Swan and wanting a traditional pub food we stopped in. My two sons had the bacon cheese burgers and they said it was best burgers they've had even the fries got a thumbs up. Daughter had the beef stroganoff, I had sausage and mash and my husband had the meat pie, all were very well done and hot. Service was impeccable. If we are back in the area again we will definitely put it on our list.
Best sea Bass I have had this year. The sauce and everything was amazing great staff and a fantastic chef the lady behind bar was very very helpful x
Stopped off on way home from Cumbria on our motorbikes for refreshments lovely welcome great staff nice pub good selection on menu. Will be visiting again soon

Great place to eat well done eaten there many a lunchtime with my friend Val and at other times with my son Ian lovely menu .
Pleasantly surprised that they had a separate Gluten free menu. Staff pre-empted my dessert needs and came over to tell me that the ice cream is gluten free. Very friendly Staff and nice food.
Lovely little inn, the owners were very friendly and kind. The room was great! Very spacious and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. Would 100% stay here again in the future.
The food in the pub below was to die for. Home cooked and served nicely. Prices definitely reflect quality (and cheaper than).
The White Swan recently catered my mother's funeral wake and the attention we received couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and reassuring. The food was very nice and plentiful, the room they gave us was cosy and the hosts service was tactful but attentive.
We came here for Christmas day dinner. The staff were lovely and so was the food. It was very good value for money and the dinner was huge. We are so stuffed 😊
We are hoping to come back next Christmas.

Brief call before visiting my sister. Not as busy as I thought it would be. Service always good. Didn't eat on this occasion.
Clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms at a fantastic price. The food and drinks were brilliant and very reasonably priced too. Dave is a brilliant host and I can't rate highly enough!

Clean tidy with a comfy bed. Room and bathoom were quite small.

Great place to stay for a visit to York, local bus runs every 20 minutes from outside so no need to drive into York. The food is really nice and very reasonable priced so would recommend eating there. The staff are lovely a very helpful. The bar area is clean and in good decoration. The bedrooms are clean and adequately spacious. The only downside is the bedrooms could do with a quick lick of paint.

Lovely little pub, a nice selection of alcohol and Dave and Ann who manage it are fab too. Quiz on a Thursday and others specials throughout the week. Recently has got a new menu which looks lovely. A must stop if your on your way to York. You won't be disappointed.
