The International Welsh Rarebit Centre - Defynnog - Photo album

An awesome gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly, attentive & professional. It was spotlessly clean with good facilities and indoor and outside seating areas. All of their Welsh Rarebit options are available gluten free 😀
It almost seems not worth writing this as hundreds of others have said the exact same as me, but this place is well worth a visit. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, I disagree with those who say it's overpriced because it just isn't. Staff were warm and friendly, loved looking through the local gif
Beautiful and scenic Tea house located in an old school building, which was originally founded in 1626 and closed in 1947. The owner kept some old features and added some cute references to the school history. The Welsh Rabbits were excellent.
Wow! Excellent stop on our way from Pembrokeshire to Bristol. Friendly, warm vibe. Toasty wood burner and Gluten free/ Coeliacs properly catered for. Looked a little grim from the outside, absolutely gorgeous inside. Recommended 🙂
Went there on a Tuesday, only to find it was closed. Knocked on the door as lights were on inside. Owner came out and seemed very irritated as we weren't aware of opening hours. Not the best customer relations experience. However, we decided to visit again today, Wednesday, and were pleased we did.
Fantastic meal, brilliant service (spot the Welsh dragon game for the kids/adults) and great selection of Welsh rarebit. Also wonderful selection of gluten free options (basically everything on the menu as they supply gluten free bread). Finally.. a really nice gallery on the top floor. Highly recom
We stop here on the way to Aberystwyth as has a lots of positives reviews. Everything was ok but nothing special. Soup was a little tasteless for me but bread with salty butter helped. Spanish chorizo rarebit was ok although not enough for me to drive here again. Coffe and cake definitely deserve 5
What a lovely place! The best Welsh rarebit I've ever had. Great service, great food
This place was recommended to us by my cousin. It is utterly delightful and is in an old building that was an old school house. There is memorabilia dotted around such as lidded desks. I was impressed with the bio fuel furnace and a collection of local books you could read. We browsed a sweet little
Amazing place, its now become a birthday ritual that my best friend and I have a birthday pilgrimage to here! Staff are wonderful.
