Booked for a break in a road trip, staff was wonderful and welcoming. Had amazing energy, food was beautiful especially the onion rings, with a home away from home feel, the room was nice and simple with everything we needed for a one night stop off. Cheers!

Parking is at the back of the pub. A very friendly and welcoming place, good food. See times for opening. Only services are fresh water. Toilets are open all hours as it lets rooms. Good walks and cycling once you get off the main road. £10 per night

Brilliant dog friendly pub. The food surpassed our expectations and there is a great selections of lagers and beer on offer. Staff are very attentive and accomodating. Only reason we 4 stars given is that decor needs some updating. The toilets, although clean, were dingy and in desperate need of a lick of paint.

Lovely place to stopover on way to devon. Lovely pub and excellent food. The hosts are very friendly and love dogs 😊 which is a good sign lol. No facilities but hey only £10 for the night in a motorhome. Would definitely stay again. 10/10.

Another sneaky tea time pint. Even though I have lived in the area for over 20 years, the Oak at Defford has passed me by as it's a stretch of road that I don't use. I was pleasantly surprised, especially when my pint and packet of crisps (Butty Bach and Piper crisps) was substantially cheaper than the local competition. The landlady was super friendly, will have to pop in again with my family to try the kitchen, I couldn't find any menu's online which is a bit odd in this digital age. Edit: it has closed down again. Stopped here for dinner on a sun soaked Saturday. We ate in the bar, the cosy wooden beamed heart of the pub. The food was top notch, and if you like pub fayre you'll like it here. Vegetarian options available. Cask ales and helpful discrete bar staff make the oak a home from home.

Great atmosphere in the bar area. The small informal dining room is very comfortable, but if you want more of a formal experience there is a large restaurant area at the rear with a separate bar and lounge seating area for pre drinks. The seasonal menus offer a good range of options and at a reasonable cost. Lovely pub.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Oak. Quite a quirky bar area. Room was spotless and very airy. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. Area to exercise dogs. Some corridor areas need a little updating but didn't affect our stay. Would recommend and would stay again. Yvonne Newcastle upon Tyne

This is a classic country pub in a lot of aspects. Location is fine as it is set in a rural location with easy access from the M5 and Pershore. There is a large car park to the rear. The bar is how an old English bar should be, low beams, cosy, a good selection of real ales and a fire place in the corner. The service was second to none. We had lunch there and although the food was very tasty, the portions large and very reasonably priced (what more could you ask for), the selection for vegetarians was small and non-existent for vegans. This is the only reason I have scored the pub 4 stars otherwise it would get 5. Definitely recommended.

Visited here as a party of 20 and everyone was amazed at how fantastic the food and service was. The menu is varied and suits all tastes and requirements. Best of all the prices are reasonable! The staff appear to enjoy working here and were very attentive and thoughtful. Would reccommend and will definatly be returning.
