Nice bar and friendly staff. The drinks were reasonably priced a d lovely clean loos. It lacked a little bit of atmosphere and ambience but a good all round pub.
The building has been around since the 15th century, so the hallways and rooms are a little crooked, but our room was very nice. The shower had good pressure and was rather large. The staff was wonderful. Would definitely stay again if we are back in that area.
Enjoyed a walk along the river then stopped for lunch. Great food, perfect shepherd's Pie. Clean dogs are welcome inside. Dedham is such a beautiful area and this a great place for food
We have just stayed at the Marlborough for a night and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We got shown around the hotel and our room was light airy and comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful with a roll top bath and the room was lovely and clean, Our only feedback is the bed could have been abit more comfortable but it was a pleasure staying at the Marlborough. We had dinner in the evening and it was absolutely delicious food and great service. We sat in their beautiful beer garden and it is a great sun trap and a peaceful village location. We were very impressed with our breakfast the food felt fresh and locally sourced I'm not sure if it was but it definitely tasted like it. We will definitely be coming back to the Marlborough for food and drinks as it was a lovely experience. Thank you
Fantastic place to stay! Service was excellent, food was delicious and room was so cosy and lovely. Couldn’t recommend enough!
What a wonderful pub with really lovely rooms in this quintessential English village. We were greeted by the owner Tom who made us feel like we’d known him for ages and our Tibetan terrier was very pleased with the bones she was given. All the staff were friendly and the food was great. Will definitely be back another time.
Stopped for lunch on the spur of the moment. No booking but accommodated quickly at a window table. Great choices on the menu.
Partner had a Scotch Egg Ploughmans. Excellent and plenty of it. The homemade touches like the Egg itself, the Pickled Onions and Piccalilli, made it.
I went for the one of the Specials, a Lamb and Potato Pendang. It was as good a Curry as I've ever had, full of flavour and just enough heat that you notice but aren't choked.
Excellent presentation with both dishes and as said plenty enough food.
I always have a pudding, though the portion sizes (with the addition of a side of chips!) made it impossible. We agreed that it was a good reason to return soon.
Service was friendly and efficient and everywhere was very clean (takes some doing in a building this old!).
We will be back, sooner rather than later.
Highly recommended.
Nice cosy , friendly pub . The food was excellent . There is seating outside too . Good selection of beer and wine . Located just off the main road that runs through the town. We managed to get parked easily enough .
My husband and I spent 3 nights here in May 2023. We were in Suffolk for a wedding. The Marlborough Inn is situated in the main street in Dedham, a picturesque country village. The Inn was perfect. It was clean and the room looked recently redecorated along with its en-suite. I was concerned that it looked out onto a side road but it was not noisy. As a resident you can use the hotel car park. The staff were lovely. Very kind and helpful and we had very prompt service at breakfast time. You can take dogs into all parts of the Inn including the bedrooms.
Absolutely amazing place and will definitely return! The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was truly out of this world! It tasted amazing and the presentation was very classy! The roast dinners were presented like a Michelin restaurant! 5 stars ☺️
Nice place, good food and drink the only thing I had a problem with was on the rare occasion young dogs couldn’t be kept quiet.
This was a distraction and made it difficult to talk and ruins the meal when they suddenly start yapping at other dogs.
Might be a good idea to separate the dogs and owners from the regular customers which make up the majority.
Might not be an easy option but would make for a better experience all round.
There is no place like home, and this place is definitely a must visit when your in Dedham. Having lived in the village for my whole life this is definitely a pub where the locals like to gather and have a catch up amd it's really lovely to see some familiar faces. The staff are friendly and the food is great. Unfortunate due to a recent fire in rhe kitchen there isn't a full menu but rhey are still serving small meals from a little food truck in the car park.
On a hike and decided to pop in for some lunch, never been before but was provided with a warm welcome from friendly staff 😊
My dog was comfortable and the food was delicious!
The atmosphere was cozy but not crowded, plenty of places to tuck yourself away if you’d like or larger areas to sit with big groups. If we’re ever in the area again we will pop back in 🤗
I visited for breakfast on a friday. There was another couple I believe who were staying in the hotel. Warm welcome, the dog was allowed in too, as long as not too wet or muddy, same rules as with people!! There are convenient boot covers if you need them!
Excellent menu, I had the granola and yoghurt, the best I've had anywhere, along with toast and jam. Ample butter and jam which was a pleasant surprise, no eeking either out to cover the toast.
My companion had croissants, of which there were two with jam. Warm and flaky (not soggy like warmed ones can be) . Good choice of beverages too. I cannot rate the rooms as I visited for breakfast only.
Will definitely return, makes a great stop off during an early dog walk.
Food was really tasty. I normally don't like Pub food, but Here was an amazing Pub! Also Cozy vibe and Staffs were friendly!
It's a fantastic pub and hotel. The staff were amazing. Super helpful and friendly. The food was superb. Our room was so clean and comfortable . Highly recommended
We didn't stay here, just popped in for a couple of drinks.
Lovely old building and great beer garden. Nice for sunny days
This was the perfect stop after a lovely walk around Denham. Was made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Drinks are reasonably priced and the food was excellent along with the service, a beautiful pub in a beautiful town, highly recommended
