One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Outstanding food - even for the non meat-eaters like me. Wonderful staff. Great owners. And the wine list is pretty spectacular too. Brilliant and deserving of a 5 stars rating. I'm only sorry that a few 1 star reviews from people who object to foie gras on the menu (now removed) have brought down the overall rating for this great restaurant.

Just this restaurant alone is worth a visit to Deal. Outstanding, mind-blowing small plates food concept. It is very well priced with delicious food. It's probably the best food I've eaten outside of London. The service was also really good, kind, attentive, and responsive. This place is great for a quick bite and a glass of wine or a full sit-down meal with a variety of dishes, each bringing you on its own flavour journey. We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people plus dessert and non alcoholic Espresso martini, and we paid 74£, so it's very reasonable. If you are really hungry or want to taste it all, order the same amount. Otherwise, scale down to 4-5 dishes. The portions are decent. My absolute favourites were the blue cheese puffs, the chickpea puffs, and hasbrown with fish. However, it was really difficult to choose favourites as everything is just so tasty. This restaurant has just recently changed their food concept from 3 course to small sharing plates. Therefore, most of the pictures here are out of date. Check my photos to see the latest offering and looks of the food. This restaurant has both outside and inside sitting. If the weather is great, it is worth to sit outside.

We have been going to this restaurant for several years. The quality of food and service has always been excellent - head and shoulders above the competition in Deal - we have tried them all multiple times! The current small plates menu is outstanding. Absolutely delicious food served in a great setting and atmosphere. All good. Highly recommended.

Had a booking there tonight to celebrate my wife's birthday. Food and small plates menu options very well balanced and delicious. The staff recommendation of 3 plates per person was just right. Service attentive but not obtrusive. Being Tuesday evening the atmosphere was a bit quiet but, in my view, that's a bonus for me but not necessarily for them. We'll be back next time we're in Deal. Highly recommended.

Cute cosy vibes, great food & wine, and excellent service. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us good suggestions of what to order and how much. We went for the special on the day (sea bream with nduja and sprouting broccoli) and it was divine. Anchovy main was also really good. I would definitely go back if we find ourselves in Deal again!

We discovered this place by accident when we tried to eat somewhere in Deal on Friday night. We were welcomed with smile and seated even without a reservation. The food was fantastic, vibes were great and the service was friendly and attentive. For us it was the best meal we had in Deal. Thank you we will be back!

Loved this place, a great vibe. A great menu and wine list. The service was friendly and attentive. The menu is quite expensive but you can see the care and effort put into each small plate and they all tasted delicious! Would definitely go back.

We enjoyed wonderful food and fantastic service in this cute little bistro in Deal. I can highly recommend the Gurnard and the fantastic Tiramisu Ice cream dessert. Thank you, we will be back!

Excellent service, great food, and nice location not far from the water. Quite affordable too! Also don’t miss the Dark Chocolate Ganache, it was peng AF. Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic meal at Frog and Scot on Friday night! We were on a day trip to Deal down from London and the food, service and ambience didn't disappoint! We had an outside table which was great, perfectly warm under the heat lamps! The variety and quality of the dishes was exemplary - highlights included the Hake special, the pickled tomatoes, the cured mackerel and the merguez sausage. Great wine list too - would also recommend their sister business Le Pinardier which is the wine bar just down the road! Was excellent value for money too considering the quality of food on offer. Would come back again in a heartbeat!

Great service and beautiful food. The waiter was excellent with recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Gutted there wasn't a Fillet Steak but the sirloin was almost as good.

I couldn't possibly be anymore enthusiastic about Frog and Scot if I tried. I love it. The small plate menu format really works. The dishes are prepared excellently and look and taste great. The drinks list is interesting with some great cocktails and some affordable interesting wines on tap. The new decor is elegant, modern and cool, but what really pulls it altogether is the passion and pride from the team on the floor, from Benoit the owner to each and everyone else I've met! Such a great vibe. I can't wait to go back.

Wow!! I have to congratulate this establishment for turning this around. Incredible tasting tapas type menu, great service. 4th time lucky! This restaurant is certainly now here to stay and I will certainly be recommending it. The oysters were to die for, but each small dish was spectacular!

Good small plates. Very good flavours including anchovy hash browns, cods roe, sausages and good on tap red. Loved the rice pudding with lemon curd. Nice relaxed venue.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We will be back ;-) Edit Sept/2021, I went back, twice recently, but I thing they overcharge: 2 x 3 courses + 1 bottle of wine (one of the cheapest) = £160. This is too much.
