We had visited Deal Castle, I had hungry kids at 2pm and loads of local food venues shut (during the summer holidays) so we walked a little further to eat here but so pleased we did. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly. Kids really enjoyed their milkshakes

Came across this restaurant by accident. Very welcoming and very busy both eat in and delivery. Haggis on a cooked breakfast was delicious, lovely quality ingredients. Coffee milk shake is a must try. Interesting menu a item's were delicious and very well presented. I'm definitely going back there. We bought cakes to take out, and they were lovely homemade, generous portions moist and fresh. They even roast their own coffee beans. What a find.

My husband, 3 year old daughter, medium/large scruffy hound and I poured into the Hog & Bean on a crowded bank holiday Sunday when Deal was teeming with crowds. We were hot & a bit overwhelmed and desperate to hide away in peace & we were welcomed here so beautifully. Can I just say, the STAFF are so incredibly lovely, genuinely lovely & staff make a business. The kind ladies operating the floor were just brilliant, funny, attentive, interested… despite being very busy. The food was divine. I had a toasted bacon and Brie with onion marmalade & it was just divine, it is the only word that will suffice. Busy, busy, busy but made the time to welcome us, talk to us, be interested in us, recommend dishes, everything arrived piping hot, was delicious… and there’s plenty of room hidden at the back for those who like to get away from the crowds! 10 out of 10 to the great staff and chefs. A real gem.

Had a lovely Luxury Hot Chocolate and Decaf Oat Latte. I couldn't see any vegan option food on the menu otherwise I would have ordered food. I can understand if vegan food isn't in demand * Thank you for the reply, next time I will ask. I feel socially awkward, so I much prefer if there was a label on the menu or a sign saying please ask for Vegan option's

Didn't even know of those place til we stumbled upon it, I'm glad we did. The breakfast I had (whose name evades me) was truly delicious, consisting of the usual egg bacon and sausage, but also tattycake, black pudding and haggis, couple that with the really attentive staff working the day we visited are the reason we'll be back over the weekend

So glad we choose this lovely little eatery for our Sunday lunch. Our party had a varied selection of a tasty vegetable broth with a good cheesy scone, tuna mayo sandwich with salad, a dish of haggis/fried onion/roast potatoes, and a roast beef Sunday lunch swimming in gravy. All delicious and well prepared. Nice coffee too. Cakes looked delicious but we were too full to taste any sadly. Good, pleasant service.

This is not for the dine-in restaurant but the Hog & Bean Box on Sandown Road, Deal. What a great wee takeaway! Great spot to have a coffee and bacon roll. Exceptionally friendly service too.

Really enjoyable lunch, my partner had a breakfast, which he said was one of the nicest he's had, he loved the addition of haggis and potato cake. He also said his coffee was very good. I had a brie, bacon and chilli jam toasty which was delicious! I took half home with me as it was very filling, big chunky bits of bacon, yum! The wine was very nice too. I found prices really reasonable and staff very friendly. We will be back for a Yorkshire pudding wrap soon!

A really nice find in Deal, quirky, retro, comfortable all come to mind sitting in the Hog & Bean. We both had banoffee pie with a jug of cream and I had my usual Earl Grey tea, lovely. Nice staff too. Highly recommend 👍

Lovely place, friendly staff and good food selection. I had the hot roast wrap which was delicious though I had to take half of it away with me as it was huge! Took away some yummy cake too.

Probably the best slice of coffee cake ever. Capuchino not bad either and the prices are very reasonable. Only downside is that dogs not allowed inside, not even cute Yorkies. Luckily it was a nice day and had a free table outside.

Great little cafe that roasts their own coffee beans every morning, run by a fellow Scot. I particularly love the Ugandan coffee from Mount Elgon and the Guatemalan coffee. Lots of home made cakes and scones. I had a delicious steak, Stilton cheese and sticky onion ciabatta for lunch, the steak was so tender. Lots of other choices for lunch.
