I had the most fantastic meal here today. The food really was quite incredible, the best meal I have had in many years. The service was speedy and friendly. The atmosphere is just lovely, informal but delightful. I cannot wait to return.

Food was fresh and well prepared but I did find the menu limited and with some unusual combinations.
Highlight of the meal was the excellent dessert.
We found the upstairs restaurant area a little warm and could have done with a bit more ventilation.

Had a really good time at 81 Beach Street. I had the catch of the day, which was sea bream. It was very fresh and tasty. The palate cleanser was also a lovely touch and for only £2 was great value. The service was also very good, not too pretentious and very friendly. Would definitely recommend
What can we say? Really great food and a young staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. A truly great experience.
Update:Just as good on our return visit some three months later. No wonder it was pretty well full on an October evening.
