Food quality and portion size was good, place was beautifully decorated but quite clinical where there was no soft furnishings like curtains, it made your voice echo slightly. We spontaneously went on a Tuesday which was steak night (we wasn’t aware of that), second steak was free which was a bonus! Great value for money.
There seemed to be a lack of energy from the staff, although there was a quite few customers in there was still a lot of waiting staff for the covers but yet the service for taking orders, clearing and puddings/bill was very slow, I wouldn’t normally mention it but I could see other people waiting for service also I think some training would be very beneficial for the clearly very new to the industry staff. A quick fix that will pay off in the long run. Adding auto service may incentivise the staff more. I would also suggest a sign to the toilets from the opposite end, multiple people headed to the garden direction before asking where they were👍
I wish this place a great success and will be returning soon!
We went on the spur of the moment with our two dogs. The service was friendly. They were very good with the dogs offering water and biscuits. The local Gadds beer was good and the food was out of the world. They obviously have a very good chef. I would easily rate this the best place to eat in the Sandwich area. And they have refurbished the pub to a very high standard. It is modern clean and welcoming. Well done we will be returning 100%!!
Had a quick after work drink here. Very nice decor which looked modern and recently renovated. Very knowledgeable bar staff who helped choose from a wide range of gins. Big open space in the beer garden.
Great food, very generous portions.
Service was very slow towards the pudding stage, they never came to take our order, and I had to ask for the bill at the bar.
Lovely decor, lighting in the toilet a little too dark.
The need for disabled hand rail in the toilet.

We stopped for a drink and some of the picky bits. They were so tasty, absolutely delicious looking forward to when the proper menu is out! We had the chips, mac & cheese, ciabatta & cheese fondue, asparagus & parmesan, honey chorizo, ham hock croquettes and olives; thoroughly enjoyed every single one.
1st time there since the refurbishment and new owners.
The manager Christian and his team were attentive and professional.
The food was excellent.
Wine choice good.
Would highly recommend this restaurant.
To be fully booked for a Tuesday says a lot.

What a total transformation! The interior is beautifully presented and the staff are attentive and friendly, The food is lovely and very moreish! Would highly recommend for a special occasion. A little pricey for a lunchtime drop in, but worth a visit.

Beautiful place, some staff seem to be under going training, so maybe a little slower than usual. Food was delicious, very flavoursome. Bit pricey but nice.
Lovely modern and friendly pub. They accommodated us even though we hadn't booked. They are dog friendly and even gave our dog a bowl of water and treats. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was good.
Not what my friend and I were expecting really friendly staff, but the food was a bit of a letdown had pork lion which was only just edible my had a steak which she couldn't eat, but the waitress kindly refunded, wine a bit pricy aswell. I will say the Crown refurbishment is excellent the quality of the food let's it down
Nice food. However, the portion sizes are all on the small side and the plates cool.
