Thankfully not too far up the steep hill lol. Walked in and the place is tidy clean and well laid out. There's a seating area for food n drinks, then the public bar then there's the one with the pool table, slot machine etc in and then a Garden out back and Patio out front, So this pub caters for all types of peoples tastes. The Beer is well kept and the staff know what they're doing. Service is friendly and polite and quick too. Ordered some food, bit of a wait but that shows it's mainly cooked to order to each table. The menu is small ish so that means a better quality in the end result. I ordered the Fish Platter and the wife ordered one of the Burgers, reasonably priced, but my dish was more like a Fish Taster and not a Platter, there should've been more scampi and white bait on there, but hey ho. So all in all this is a Pub that I'd visit again if I'm staying locally as this pub did what the sign on the front says, welcome inn. Just a small note if the Landlord reads this, Sammie one of the staff from the Golden Sands Recommended you, think she deserves a little thankyou lol

What a lovely evening we had tonight! A warm welcome, a tempting menu and a lovely ambience. We spent the last evening of our holiday in this fab pub and had a fabulous time. Not being a local, I don’t know what it was like before it was under new management - all I can say is that I heartily recommend it for an evening meal. All dishes were freshly made, piping hot and presented very well. I don’t have a bad word to say about the place. Thank you for a memorable evening 😊

As a newlywed, my wife and I chose the Welcome Inn to have our first meal out as man and wife. We had a fantastic reception from the new owner who bought us a drink to say congratulations. He was warm and welcoming which is a vast improvement from the previous owners of the establishment. The food prices are very reasonable. Probably the best prices around Dawlish Warren. I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The chips were the best I have ever tasted. My wife ordered the lasagna pasta bake and it was delicious. The salad was fresh and the dressing was amazing. The portion sizes are great too. The new chef there knows his craft and I cannot speak highly enough of him. They do need to print a lot more menus though but this is a minor gripe. I can see them losing custom as people will walk out if they cannot find a menu. The Welcome Inn is a great place to go. If you were disappointed in the past give it another chance. Highly recommended!! Thanks for a great meal!!

The best meal by far of all the restaurants we’ve visited during our stay in Dawlish. Excellent service, even specially accommodating for fussy toddlers! All eight meals we ordered were faultless, delicious, very high quality food. Also an imaginative menu using local produce, generous portions and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

New owners/management/Staff, well done!!! I went in last minute with my wife & daughter on Easter Sunday, we were catered for on this busy day & had a delicious meal (I had Madras curry with half rice & half thick potato wedges, lovely) Even the young lady staff member taking 5 minutes to have her own evening meal, jumped up to grab my daughter a drink of water from the bar as the staff were busy. Much appreciated. Many thanks.

Went here Sunday 27th May with my girlfriend. We didn't book but the manager Julie gave squeezed us in but told us we'd have to be off the table within an hour which we were. The carvery was absolutely amazing a immense selection of vegetables the staff and manager were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely would go here again but would definitely book next time.

Under new ownership with with a brand new spanking new chief who has years of experience working in top establishments. Due to new owners and chief they are working hard to establish a high standard well respected establishment and this they are doing. The specials board is all home made, it is excellent value and you will not be disappointed. The Sunday carvery is excellent value it is fresh and plenty of it. The team are still new they welcome all comments and are keen to make the welcome a well respected resturant/public house.

Since a change in owners, the welcome Inn has been transformed from a average hostelry to a first class pub that lives up to its name all year round. Gone are the days when it would be just a man and a dog, outside the holiday season. The pub staff are friendly and helpful. The food is really good and the Sunday roast all locally sourced and delicious.

Friendly and welcoming staff, and bar prices are reasonable. We visited for the Sunday carvery and there was a good selection of meats and vegetables. Would definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.

Very quiet pub with excellent service and very friendly and welcoming staff. To be honest I wasn't expecting too much from the food, but I needn't have worried as it was great, with good portion size and fast service. This place definitely deserves to be busier.
