Lovely canal side pub next to the A5 so road and boat travellers abound. Wonderful smiley barmaid welcome who just bounded around with a natural ability, (rather than your typical grunting oik) lovely pub food at competitive prices and a decent pint of Pedrigree bitter πŸ˜ƒ. Plenty of tables inside and canal side seating too, right next to a lock. Mooring wise we walked past quite a few private moorings to the west to get to the pub and after found a delightful canal/antique shop to the east.

Great pub to watch the world go by and enjoy a great meal or just a pint and some nibbles. The added bonus being the stupid boaters that come by on hire boats, you will be sure to get a laugh as they completely mess up the locks! 🀣πŸ›₯️πŸ›₯️πŸ›₯οΈβš“οΈβš“οΈβš“οΈβš“οΈπŸ›ΆπŸ›ΆπŸ›ΆπŸš’πŸš’πŸš’πŸš’πŸ›Ά

Dog friendly nice little pub! Found it a little pricy on food/drink (pint Β£4.40-90, ham egg and chips Β£10 and sandwich Β£8.50 with chips). Lovely location though and I would go back

Lovely traditional English small canal side pub - no TV, thank goodness! Good menu and great food. Friendly staff. Tables outside next to the canal so you can watch the boats go through the locks.

I moored up close to the pub. First time since COVID. Spent an hour or so outside as the sun went down. Beer in hand, watching the boats pass through the lock. As it got a bit chilly, we moved inside and decided to eat. My friends fish and chips were some of the best he had tasted. I went for a ham egg and chips. Cheap and cheerful. It is always good to find a pub that is doing well.

An amazing meal, huge portions and it all felt properly home cooked. So 5 stars from us all. However, there could just be veggie sausages or fake chicken to make it a proper veggie Sunday lunch. But the cannelloni I had was delicious and the chef kindly put a Yorkshire and roasties on my plate. Overall a fab experience and will visit again.

This pub is in a lovely location, had the weather been nice we would have preferred to sit outside but we had to sit inside. This pub could be made really nice inside but as it is its a bit tired in need of some updating. They didn't cater for gluten intolerance which is surprising in this day and age so we all had chips! Would come again but sit outside if the sun ever shines.

An old place, ideal to enjoy a delicious drink and with a great view towards the canal, you can see the canoes and how they open their floodgates. I would definitely return to this place, the staff is very attentive and the quality is good.

The place is very charming, and located right next to a lock it's a wonderful location. I had the all day brunch which was sadly quite poor, and expensive for the quality of the ingredients. I would come here again if I'm passing, but I won't be having the all day brunch!

A lovely little pub next to the canal. Good line up of cask ales. Friendly locals and great service. Big thanks to the barmaid Susie for helpful advice about the next pub on our route having closed. Cheers

Stopped here during narrow boat ride with 6 others. Every meal was great. Great choices of beers. We enjoyed sitting outside at picnic benches under umbrellas.

Nice lockside pub, beer well kept, food good and freshly cooked. Not just tourists, there were plenty of locals there too. Prices are close to London prices, which is not unusual for pubs near the canals.

Small but welcoming Canal Side Pub with outside seating to "Gongoozle" at the boats going through the top lock of the Long Buckby flight. All within a short autumn walk from my winter mooring @WhiltonMarina up the Buckby flight to the top lock and the New Inn. I was invited to join some friends for dinner there and we had an excellent dinner and a couple of drinks.

Beautiful place to have some good lunch and very nice beers. The location is very good because it's just beside the river canal and you can see the boats going by what makes a very lovely atmosphere. Definitely a nice place to go and have a nice evening!
