Well we went in because the train barriers were down on the way into Windsor for some lunch, and so glad we did! The staff are very friendly and helpful, as for the food WOW the nachos are to die for. Been there half a dozen times now, and wanted to try a different starter but just can't get passed the nachos yet. The fish stew is 👍 and the pie is great too. It can get busy over the weekend so well worth booking a table. Looking forward to go back soon and maybe trying something new on the menu as it all looks delicious 😋

I met some friends here before a flight at Heathrow and we were sad to hear we were a bit too early for lunch but the staff were so lovely + accomodating and managed to make us one of the BEST lunches I have ever had. Do not miss the Scotch Duck Egg, the Cod & Chips and the Falafel Flatbread Burger. Absolutely out of this world. I cannot say enough good things about the front house staff and especially the chef and kitchen staff for coming to our rescue and blowing us away with their hospitality, consideration and mouth-watering fare.

This pub just keeps going from strength to strength. Their latest menu is fantastic. We've been twice already and had the fish stew which was utterly delicious and then the beef and ale pie which could be the best food I've ever eaten. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating we just can't believe how good it is in there. They have some great local beers too.

Had two lunches in this lovely pub lately, the most recent yesterday with my parents and son. All of us very much enjoyed our lunch. The menu offers an excellent choice. The landlord and other staff are so friendly, as are the locals that drink there.

I had to travel from Germany to find this beautiful pub. Kindest staff, cozy atmosphere and best vegetarian food (sausages, mashed potatoes and onion gravy). And the best nachos ever, home made!

We always come here just for their famous pies. They are truly the best. Great thick deep filled pies with fabulous pastry! We love them so much we often take our friends who order them too. One of our friends came all the way from Key West, Florida and he was so impressed!!

Fabulous pub, came recommended by Kris Cruiser’s and definitely didn’t disappoint !! . Beautiful tradition pub with very tasty food. One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten!! Would highly recommend, such a shame it’s not my local!!

Lovely meal, tasty and home cooked, great service and nice ambiance in a historic old pub. We had beef pie (fabulous meaty, traditional pie) and duck stir-fry. Staff very good, no parking but there's a free local car park a couple of mins walk from the pub that's free after 6pm.

Generally a really nice place. Lovely pu interior and great staff, always friendly, laughing and happy to chat (when not too busy). Food is the normal pub quick done food. Nothing special but good nonetheless. If you're in the area and want somewhere for a pint and a chat, that's a good place to go.

Had a roast dinner here after a walk along the River. It was pretty quiet for a sunday though staff was super friendly. Roast dinner was nice, good roast potatoes, maybe could have done with more veg. Apple crumble was a little odd - sort of apple puree with a crunch topping.

Great local pub! Had the Sunday roast with my partner and we both enjoyed it. Friendly staff and cold beers! Generous gravy, and fresh vegetables! Couldn't ask for more!

Popped in here with work friends for drinks. Was a hot day so sat outside. Nice, but parking on the street could be a pain. We got lucky with one spot.

Nice pub. Beef and Ale pie was excellent. Decent pint of beer. Friendly and efficient staff. Would happily return and recommend. Concsensus was the Apple Pie wasn't the best but that wouldn't stop me returning. it's close to 5 stars to be honest.

Warm friendly welcome, good beers, clean and well looked after pub. Strange to see how it has changed so much after frequenting it so often in the 1980s and 1990s. Look out for the spooky handprint on the window pane.. it's been there for decades.

We had roast lamb and beef which were very lean and tasty. One of the best roast dinners we have had in a pub and great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit for a Sunday roast.
