Lovely cakes, nothing too fancy and a good sized wedge. We had giants meringues, lemon drizzle, banana and chocolate chip, apple cake and brownie, all were lovely. Sadly we visited at about 2pm and most of the bread was gone but we picked up some very large granary and white rolls which were soft and a good flavour

I had the cheese and onion pasty and my husband had the steak one. It was the best we have ever had and packed with filling, will be visiting again.

The best baguettes I’ve had in the UK! Whilst staying in a cottage in Dartmouth over Twixmas 22, we popped out for bread on our first morning went into the Bakehouse as it was open the earliest of the other bakers we found. The baguette we chose was incredibly good. A crisp, but not tough crust, with the fluffiest inner ever. This was supported by a very cheerful and welcoming lady (purple highlights!!!), thank you. We went in every morning after and bought a baguette and some equally delightful baps for our sarnies to have in the car as we headed home to Wimbledon. Enjoy.

I came in on the first day of my holiday and my partner noticed the choc chip banana cake. I ended up going in every day for the same cake. I've never tasted anything like it. Absolutely amazing! Honestly wish I could have a weekly delivery sent back to the West Midlands. Please keep making that cake! Staff are friendly too! Can't wait to come back!

Sold me one of the best pasties I have ever eaten. And I’ve eaten a lot of pasties. Pastry was salty and chewy; meat was generous and peppery. A moment of savoury joy in these bleak times.

I believe this one was the one I went on September 1st while visiting Dartmouth. I believe they are from Salcombe which was my no.1 desired destination in Devon ,but unfortunately it was much further & another 3 hr trip ? ,so I gave up & chose Dartmouth .I bought a bag of bakewell tarts & they were so heavenly 😍 ✨️ So~super / duper yummy !!!!! 😋 They were sweet ,but not overwhelming & soft , I love almond flavour pasteries & cookies ,so this was PERFECT !!! I wish if I bought a couple of more bags !!!! Lol.1 issue was they were super soft ,so all got smashed & crumbled in my bag by the time I got back to my hotel in Torquay .☹️So,I couldn't/ didn't take a picture !! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PASTERY/ BAKERY shop !!! This & the ice cream shop connected to a pub / restaurant right by the ferry ( try the clotted cream flavoyr !!! ) are 5 star in my opinion !!! 👍👍👍

Actually the best meat pie I've had in a long time, buttery flaky dough and tender beef in a well seasoned sauce. Loved it, I'll be back for more! .
