I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming pub, and I left thoroughly impressed. While pubs are often associated with beer and hearty meals, what stood out to me here was their exceptional coffee. It's not every day that you find a pub that serves coffee of such high quality, and it was a delightful surprise.
But what truly took my breath away was the view. The pub is situated in a picturesque location that offers stunning vistas. Sipping on a delicious cup of coffee while gazing out at the scenic beauty was a truly memorable experience. It's not just a place to enjoy a drink; it's a place to savor the moment.
The combination of great coffee and an awe-inspiring view makes this pub a hidden gem worth discovering. Whether you're a coffee lover or simply in search of a relaxing spot with a view, this place has it all. I can't recommend it enough for those seeking a peaceful and enjoyable outing.
Had a wonderful stop at the pub today while we walked down to Landcombe. Staff were incredibly polite, lovely bit of banter with the kiddos. Food was really good! Nothing to fault at all, really tasty. At roughly £45 for 2 adults and 2 children (inc. beer and cider) you can't go wrong. Dog friendly and even a little play area while the kids waited for lunch. Amazing view for the husband and I. If we visit the area again we will certainly be back!
Fantastic pub with a warm welcome, great food and superb views.
Six of us had a two mile walk here from our holiday rental to enjoy a Sunday lunch. Everything was perfect - from the service and food to the weather!
We would highly recommend the Kings Arms - it’s managed passionately by the village community and is a project that deserves support and success! Good luck 🍀
Myself and partner visited here one night after looking for a pub to go to whilst staying at a local campsite. Absolutely amazing warm welcome from the moment we stepped inside the door and fantastic service throughout out our entire time there. And the best bit is that this pub is owned and run by the local community, read the "our story" page on their website for full details.
In terms of customer service this pub excels at every level. In fact some of the big pub and restaurant chains would benefit from sending their staff there for some training and experience on how to make customers feel welcome.
If you like beer and ale there are several local varieties on offer and all of them are good. The food menu is simple with all of the normal pub classics, served in a timely manner with good presentation. The desserts and ice cream in particular are amazing.
The dining room has a lot of really lovely local paintings which are available to purchase at good prices. We went away with a lovely oil painting of a local beach as a souvenir of our stay.
After our first night we were so happy we immediately booked again for the next night.
Ruby and George were the sole bar staff at the pub the night we visited. They were more than able to provide care for all their guests including us. They were very friendly, attentive and helpful despite being very busy, nothing was too much trouble. Very impressive from two young people on how to work in hospitality.
The food was of excellent quality served in the right time frame.
We are there Sunday and Monday evening. Would definitely recommend.
5 stars all round!
Highly recommended - What a fantastic meal we’ve had this evening at the Kings Arms. A cosy atmosphere and beautiful setting. We enjoyed the pies and pizzas, but it was hard to choose as the whole menu was appealing. We must give a shout out to the lads serving, they were so polite and provided excellent service. Our dog was made to feel welcome and a water bowl was brought to her. We look forward to returning next year and wish you all the best with your outstanding community pub.
Popped in for Sunday lunch and would highly recommend, friendly staff, nice beer garden with lovely views from garden & dinning area.
Terrific pub with stunning sea views. We were lucky enough to eat there on an "open mic" night. We enjoyed the excellent local musicians and the warm, friendly atmosphere. We'll be back next time we're in the South Hams.

Lovely community pub in Strete. We were welcomed by a wonderfully kind and jovial man who volunteers at the pub and told us a lot about the history of Strete. And what a fascinating one at that! Go for the atmosphere, beautiful views of the coastline and lovely garden! Warmly recommended.
A really brilliant Father’s Day Sunday lunch - very tasty starter, delicious roast and puddings. The new chef is doing an amazing job. The service was, as ever, very efficient, helpful and friendly. The fantastic view encourages one to have yet another drink!!!
