Lovely cafe with welcoming friendly staff. The Cornish Pasty was the best pasty I've ever had and the Cranberry and Brie Panini was excellent. Definitely recommend this cafe

I travelled half way round the world and I was not disappointed. Been hanging out for a cream tea and the Castle was where I wanted it. Huge pot of tea plus a jug of hot water. Cream and jam plentiful and nice warm scones. Although incredibly busy, the service was quick and pleasant staff.

Generally very good, with great views, tasty smooth coffee, and good homemade snacks. Savoury platters up to standard too. Always hard for a small business with a high turnover to be utterly charming with every customer, but a reasonable balance between polite and quick achieved. Is it a destination in itself? Combined with the view? yes. Nearby free parking not a problem out of season.

Brilliant lunch, really lovely food and loads of great vegan options - it was very busy on our visit (bank holiday) and they got through the crowds so easily, well done to all the staff, thank you for a really nice lunch and being really friendly.

Unfortunately they had run out of scones so no cream tea. Lovely views though. Nice stop mid walk from little Dartmouth.

Very lovely views. Great walk from Dartmouth. Beautiful setting. Drink is the perfect place to stop after a walk. Reasonably priced.

Possibly the best Cappuccino (frothy coffee) in Dartmouth, walk along Castle Rd looking at the million pound properties, to a brew with a view at the wonderful Dartmouth Castle Cafe. The wildlife takes an active interest in every visitor, and the coastal view is not to bad 😉

Lovely tea room at Dartmouth Castle and St Petrox Church for much needed refreshments after the walk from Dartmouth. We took the ferry back!

Very friendly staff who remember you! Good selection of cakes, ices creams and snacks. Plenty to choose from teas coffees and cold drinks too. Cakes and ice lollys were very flavourful and definitely would have again if travelling to the nearby coves

Stumbled across this place and it was the best surprise of our holiday! Everything seems to be home made and we had the best pastie ever, followed by an amazing cream tea. We were even offered extra cream at no extra cost!! The view is also amazing.

One of our favourite spots in Dartmouth with amazing views - staff are always a complete joy and very accommodating too — we've been going for years when we're down in Devon on holiday. The tea room is dog-friendly and a brilliant spot to chill out after a walk along the coast, over the hills or along the River Dart from the town. Always a good range of cakes, nibbles, lunches and drinks on offer and a lovely chilled atmosphere too. *By the way:* shame on some of the sad, nasty people below who marked down this brilliant tea room — I have seen some such people there with my own eyes and basically *they're never happy* and sadly go out of their way to write nasty reviews that simply aren't deserved. Didn't have enough cream? Simply ask for more. Had too much cream? Just leave it and stop whingeing about everything — the world does not revolve around you! Staff will never win with you people. Thanks for keeping non-mask-wearers out too (Emily Cocksmith below, please note); as fellow customers, we don't want their germs whether they're so-called exempt or not, so staff did the right thing in my humble opinion. Keep up the excellent work Castle Tea Rooms and we look forward to seeing you again in the summer.

Just had a delicious cream tea, my friend enjoyed it so much she bought six scones for later. The scones are very tasty, the jam amazing and the cream wonderful. Sat outside with a Robin darting about under our feet. A bit windy but brilliant view of the mouth of the river Dart.
