Staying overnight in the Hall I spent a lovely evening in the pub recently. They have some great ales on tap. The bar and waiting staff were very friendly and attentive although it was busy so the service a little slow. The following morning I enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the pub. Again the staff were great. Will hopefully be back again soon.
It was such a wonderful afternoon. the sun was shining. The food was delicious.. my little boy loved running around.. Great fenced field for my dog to run free and safe.
A 14th-century pub in the grounds of Dartington Hall. They offer an extensive choice of drinks and a small but varied food menu.
The food itself is top end pub grub and very reasonably priced.
My only gripe is the speed of service. I dined there three successive nights and, on each occasion, had to wait between thirty and forty minutes for the food to arrive at a time when the pub wasn't particularly busy. This was a shame as everything else was pretty good.
Twelve quid for a rum n coke and pint of ale...yikes. However, the rum was gorgeous (Devon Rum) so was a good visit all in all. And they let us transfer our drinks to plastic cups so we could go watch the amazing Haircuts before watching meet me in the bathroom at the barn cinema.

Fantastic food in a beautiful historic building. Youthful and attentive service. Even had a swallow flying round inside the high ceilinged bar and restaurant area at breakfast having snuck inside via an open door. Free entertainment too, what more could you ask for.
Good food, service was good but can't give it 5 stars because I got a drink served in a dirty glass.

Great little spot to relax and have a drink. Wonderful high ceilings and windows.
I would normally give this place a five but on this occasion our table placement for dinner wasn't great. We were a couple out for a quiet dinner and even though there were other tables around the corner, they chose to sit us next to a couple with 2 very young, tired, children who were there until about 10 o'clock - running around and being quite noisy. I know that makes me sound miserable, parents and children are definitely allowed out to dine - I am a parent myself. However, the staff could have made it ok for everyone to have a pleasant evening if they had thought about it and just put us around the corner. I know we cd have asked - but I wasn't up for making the parents feel bad either. The staff are great, but a bit more thought wd have been good.
