Went in for 1 pint on a Saturday night when passing.
Stayed all night, Music in background was really good bar staff where great and a cracking pint of beer.
Highly recommended to anyone passing.
This is the first time we have been to this pub and we will be visiting again and often.
We stopped for lunch and had amazing bao buns that tasted excellent at a very reasonable price, even the coffee was good.

The exterior is a Beautiful looking pub covered in Victorian glazed tiles looking out onto the square. The interior is dark is but pleasantly welcoming .
Very helpful & friendly barman / owner (?) Who informed me about the real ales on & let me try some too . All very well kept & nice .
Most beautiful looking pub I have ever been in thumbs up to the people who designed and refurbished it. Excellent choice of food and drink most definitely will be back and let everyone know about the brand new hole in the wall.

The Hole in the Wall captures the feel of a classic pub very well. The decor and atmosphere fit in well with its location.
The barman was able to recommend me just the right stout for my evening, and it was lovely to see a pub in Darlington stocking something more then ‘The Spoons Standards’.

Have been a couple times when passing through Darlo. Great little pub with food that will surprise you. Better quality than you'd expect from a pub! Everything I've had there is delicious.
We held a baby shower in the function room above the bar. It was a well kitted room, perfect size for the 15 of us attending. The staff were helpful and so kind. Great selection of Real ales available. But the food is outstanding. Don't forget to ask for a doggy bag because I bet you can't finish what you order. Staff really friendly and helpful as well. Splendid find in Darlington
