First time I have been here and have to say the food is amazing. Best food in Darlington I have had for a long time. Great staff, lovely atmosphere and can’t fault the place. Will definitely be back
Haven't been for quite some time but it was as good, if not better, than I remembered. The food was very nice and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be going back soon and would highly recommend.
We had a great meal for my friends birthday last week. So much delicious food I don't know if I could pick a favourite dish. We had an amazing night with lovely service and a lively atmosphere. We will definitely come back, thank you.
Great food and atmosphere! Staff were lovely too. Would highly recommend this place.
Never disappointed with this place. Food, atmosphere and service all top rate
Always a great afternoon when the football is on, great crack amongst the locals, and as ever plenty of choices of both food and drink, with friendly efficient staff it's a win win situation...
It works out expensive but it's a lovely treat.
House red wine very nice.
Pil pil Gambas is to die for.
My favourite place to eat in Darlington. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and a good range of drinks.
Amazing atmosphere, amazing food and the staff are incredible!!! ☺️ Love this place!!
I came for tea last night with my Mum sisters and an old work colleague whilst visiting from Yorkshire , the food was great, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, fantastic 10out of 10, I will be back hopefully very soon.
Had dinner here last night, food was lovely and staff were even lovelier. Thanks really enjoyed it and we will definitely be back soon
Managed to squeeze us in even though fully booked. All the food was beautiful and sangria refreshing. Always a good choice. 💃🏻
First time food was lovely and staff pleasant and helpful will be going again busy for a Saturday afternoon
Never a disappointment with this place, great food, great service and great atmosphere
Friendly staff...good choice on menu. ..nice for all types of get togethers. ..
Lovely little restaurant, food was amazing, staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
Third time I have visited Darlington and my third visit. They serve fantastic food with great wine. Highly recommended
had a meal here last night with the hubby, sister and brother in law. It was lovely they were very helpfull and let me know what dishes had nuts in when i told them i had a nut allergy.I would recoment this place to everyone.
We have drank there many times but last night was the first time we had eaten and we weren't disappointed fantastic FOOD will be going again
Best bar! Best atmosphere! Best staff! Best drinks! Love it!
Atmospheric. Loved the Christmas cocktails. Friendly and efficient staff.
Great food, good value. Always an enjoyable meal at the Tapas.
Great food and a wide selection of beers. Staff very friendly, will definitely be back
Excellent food and drink. The tempura courgettes were (in the words of Craig Revel Horwood), gorgeous.
Fabulous food. Definitely some of the best tapas I've ever eaten. Loved that there were so many Greek tapas options - and how good they were! The atmosphere inside was really charming. I particularly enjoyed the little paragraph of history on the back of the menu.
Service could have been better - ordering by marking your choices on a piece of paper is certainly more efficient, and I did enjoy that aspect, but is also pretty impersonal. More importantly, we did have to wait a long time on a relatively quiet night with our coats on indoors for our dishes to be cleared. Menus were pretty sticky. The waitresses were pleasant enough though, and it didn't really impact too much on the night 🙂
Overall, I'd definitely recommend and would love to go back.
Food was tasty, service was friendly but a little patchy (the server who brought out our dishes called a number of them by the wrong names, and one of the dishes may have been entirely wrong since we ordered pork, they said it was beef, we asked for clarification and they didn't know, and we couldn't tell the difference), setting was dimly lit and extremely loud on a Saturday afternoon due to multiple big groups seated nearby - it would help if there were more curtains/soft furnishings etc to dampen the noise. Not a good spot for a quiet/intimate meal.

Loved it! Food, service, and atmosphere were all awesome!
Just can't fault the place. Absolutely spot on food is always delicious on time, pipping hot.
Just love it weather its a cheeky after work glass of wine , tapas for 2, or a big family meal you have never let us down.
Wow , first visit to Darlington as a veggie and the Old Court Tapas Bar did not disappoint. On the contrary the ambience was cosy and relaxing. Food was delicious and there was such a delicious variety. Service was attentive and just right. Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant/bar.
Food was beautiful. We had the Lamb gyro plate and the lamb and chips were delicious. Couldn't fault the food.
I've given a 3 for the service as one waitress asked if we were ready, we asked for a minute and she never came back. When i went to the bar to ask to order the other waitress said I had to be served by the male waiter, who was busy and she just stood there next to him, waiting for me to ask him.
It wasn't very professional and felt like it was all on the one person. She thrn gave me drinks that she didn't know which was which and that ended up us both having to taste them to find out.

Food was absolutely beautiful. 7 of us went and we ordered a little too much, thankfully the waitress held back on the extra bread one of the group had ordered as we struggled to eat what we had! Can thoroughly recommend the calamari and prawns as they were perfect. Will definitely be going again.
Great food and Great selection, always really tasty, and good value,
Fantastic mix of Spanish and Greek tapas delicious, all beautifully cooked and great hosting by the team
Excellent value for money as they provide good size portions
Visited here with my youngest Son a few weeks ago as he really wanted to try some different types of food. He really enjoyed it. I have visited several times before and this is place is definitely one of my favourite restaurants, lovely food, nice atmosphere, clean environment and staff are all really polite and friendly.
A vegan pre-show delight.
Heading to the Hippodrome I looked for somewhere we could have a pre-show vegan dinner but not too heavy.
The Old Yard Tapas Bar was sporting a tempting Spanish Tapas and Greek Meze Vegan Dinner Menu so gave it a bash.
In the evening each table is candlelit, intimate but can be open for good chat for groups. Bar is well stocked, music was pleasant and staff attentive with a nice ambience.
There is a different vegan lunch and vegan dinner menu which are extracts from the main menu with some dishes changed to suit vegans. The vegan dinner menu sported 9 Spanish Tapas and 8 Greek Meze choices, with 11 sides (see picture). Unlike many places which brag about a good a menu but in reality they don’t have half of the ingredients, only 2 were not available due to being let down by suppliers.
We choose carefully to ensure the tastebuds had a different sensation or texture and we were not disappointed.
The ‘Breadbasket’ to start with had soft olive bread with vegan butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A lovely appetiser while the food was being cooked and very cheap too.
Spanish ‘Patatas Ali Oli’ was warming comfort food consisting of tapas fried potatoes topped with a vegan ali oli (see picture)
Spanish ‘Morcilla Y Chorizo’ tasted just like real black pudding, but was a vegan black pudding with soy chorizo, topped with red onion. Amazing.
Spanish ‘Chorizo Con Pimentos Asados’ delighted our tastebuds. Rich with no obvious indication it was vegan at all. It’s a soy chorizo with roasted red peppers and pan fried in brandy and garlic. Delicious.
Greek ‘Boorekakia’ was really tasty and while the texture may put some off (very soft and slippery) it tasted really nice. It’s sliced aubergine, rolled and stuffed with vegan feta cheese and topped with tomato and vegan parmesan.
We also ordered the Greek ‘Halloumi’ but it was off the menu so they served at feta version instead (and never charged us for it - it was on the house). It’s is pan fried vegan halloumi (feta for us) served with oregano & lemon on top. Refreshing and real palate cleanser.
Washed down with a jug sangria, it felt like we were on holiday. 😊
Without doubt we’ll be back next time we’re in Darlo - try the vegan lunch menu next 😉
Food excellent and a special mention for the care and attention they played to the gluten free and vegans amongst the group - properly checking that all was okay with our order.
Love the fact you get an "order sheet".
Monte Darlo is amazing and I'm hooked. Look forward to returning!
Very tasty food. Our meal consisted of 2x patatas bravas, 1x Greek salad, 1x chicken gyros, 1x lamb gyros, 1x pint and 1x water and cost £52 from the lunch menu which offers larger portions than the tapas menu. Very tasty - looking forward to my next visit.
Delicious food - excellent choice. Great service. An all round nice dining experience.
I went for tapas with my 2 daughters and my granddaughter. We all spent a couple of hours enjoying a chat , a drink and good food .
Got a seat outside the night was just right for this. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed. The youngsters who were serving on, obviously were new to the task and it showed, a person with experience should have been there to orchestrate the ballet. The atmosphere in a full eating area was perfect.
Gorgeous food & lovely atmosphere.
Staff pleasant & helpful.
food nice but staff hated us :(
liked the greek salad very good👍🏻
