Just visited Bonfire today for an impromptu lunch with 3 kids. We were greeted by staff on arrival and seated. Menus arrived promptly and our order was also taken promptly. We ordered 2 of the pizzas to share with a side of chips. The pizzas were really good... kids and I were impressed and really enjoyed them. Chips were lovely and crispy and well seasoned. There was plenty of food for us all. The bill was very reasonable. We loved the decor and found the staff to be friendly and professional throughout. We'll definitely go back to sample some more of the menu. Kids menu looked good at 2 courses plus a drink for Β£5. Hope this place does well...nice to have another food choice that's good quality and reasonably priced on the doorstep.
Decided to give this place a try this evening and so glad we did, were met by a very friendly welcome food came pretty quickly piping hot and freshly made. Bill with drinks was very reasonable and the friendly waiter/owner gave my young daughter a free fruitshoot and lots of lovely compliments. Can't wait to return!
Came across Bonfire by accident had drove through Dalkeith looking for some food on the drive up from Alnwick (we were heading to the kebab shop).
Bonfire menu outside looked fantastic! Went inside and wasn't disappointed.. with a feel good factor! And beautiful decor we had made a good choice going in! Unfortunately the menu was a scaled down version but still good choices. Was really pleased with the jug of table water and mint (made me instantly happy) our food arrived, pizza, burger and Chinese chips! Was really good.. and a really food price! Would consider a 2hr drive back to Dalkeith to try there full menu π
Great lunch today. Good food, nice prices, didnt have to wait long for food to arrive. We had to ask for a dessert menu and our bill but staff were friendly, helpful and very good with the kids in our party. Will definitely be back, hopefully soon.
You really can't go wrong here for pretty decent eats at competitive prices. When this place first opened, service could be painfully slow. This has definitely improved of late and the wait staff are reasonably attentive (possibly helped by a new flag system for gaining their attention). Definitely worth a visit and great for a casual meal out.
My friend & I went for lunch at bonfire today. Staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a Bottle of wine and some small plates as sharing tapas. Food was good and thought wine was reasonably priced. However we didn't rate the puddings, Eton mess was merangue nest with too much cream and a strawberry on top which wasn't Erin mess as we know it. The lemon cheesecake did not have a lemon taste. Overall we really liked Bonfire the mains, staff, decor and wine and will be back.
We just visited today, very well welcome right at the door. All staff are polite and friendly, water with mint is on the table ready to drink, good idea. We have starters and mains followed by dessert. Drinks right after order, Starters come within 10 min. Mushrums and nachos are fantastic, we ask for kid main come at the same time as starters, everything happen as requested. Burgers are big and tasty however I like my bum bit warmer. Our 3 years old really like the food as well, she got glowing band from waiter. We enjoyed our evening, would recommend to everyone.
Agreed
Fantastic staff
Food is very good
Last time I had pizza like that was in milian
We 3 mum's, (3 generations)as an early mother's Day, decided on having a meal in the new Al's Bistro. We were welcomed as soon as we entered, and had the choice of table selection. We also had a 5 year old & a 9 month old with pram, which was not a problem,as baby was sleeping pram was sittued right behind our table. Unfortunately, 5 year old spilled a whole glass off juice ( lots of mess) but staff were fantastic and cleaned up the spillage very quickly πOur waitress was very friendly, helpful and a smile from ear to ear( wish I could remember her name..!!) We all decided on fish and chips, all battered with 2 skinned chips 1 french fries. Wow... The fish were a very good size and cooked very well, very enjoyable. The 5 year old had chicken bites with French fries, yet again ...wow... Nice pieces of white chicken done in batter.5 year old wasted no time..π desserts.. great selection. Chocolate/strawberry or vanilla ice cream. Waffles, banoffee, sticky toffee pudding, there were a few other things on the menu but can't recall. 1 child's ice cream,2 waffles and a sticky toffee pudding later, we were all very happy mums, with very full tumsπ We decided to go on the Saturday as we know Mothering Sunday would probably be very busy. All in all, Great place,Great atmosphere,Great staff,Great food. Well done Al's Bistro πππ
Loved the food, service was excellent and really good value for money. Family friendly and my daughter loved the pizza so it must be good! Loved the cocktail and the wine was also excellent. Will definitely be back!!
Place looks fabulous have been completely revamped by new owners. The staff are all attentive and friendly. The menu is great and VERY reasonably priced. Dogs are welcome too and will be getting their own menu I believe. Highly recommend for just a cuppa or for a meal.
Great place to go for a couple of drinks and chill. The staff are all lovely and I love the Gin collection πππ
Been here a few times either for coffee and cake or pizza and a drink, each visit was brilliant. The pizza's are amazing and great value and the staff were really friendly. This place is exactley what Dalkeith needs, I will definitely be back.
