Called in on the off chance and what a gem of a place. We could see so many reserved signs on the tables and my first thoughts it must be good. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were all lovely and the young girl that served us was so polite and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble.
I don't normally have starters but we decided to have the mixed platter, it was lovely what a platefull, everything was beautifully cooked.(if i had known the size I would have gone strait to dessert) when our main meal came in it looked fantastic, the only trouble we were so stuffed. I only ate 1/3 of my lasagne but was reluctant to leave it as it was so delicious ( I wouldn't normally but asked to take it home as I couldn't waste such Lovely food) my partner had the beef Guinness pie it was a platefull too. There was a fab selection of vegetables and the pie was bursting with beef plus a pile of home cooked chips finished off with home made beef gravy. He failed to finish but had a good go.
We didn't get to dessert as there was no room left, will definitely go again and try something else off the menu as everything looked lovely. Well done keep it up ��
Visited here a few times and the welcome is always friendly and personal, the meals are amazing value and parking is never a problem apart from at very busy times.

The mixed grill gave me magical powers. Start Hogwarts in September. Highly recommend.
Always made to feel welcome great food. Even when very busy always finds room for me and my daughter. Top service. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I stopped here for the Sunday roast. The service was very nice and the prices extremely affordable. Food portions were good too. However, I was not completely happy with the Sunday roast. The mash was a bit lumpy. The flavours could have been better.
Nevertheless, what was really good about this place was that they had a vegan option. They had a nut roast which my boyfriend ordered. He was quite happy with it. It's nice to see a vegan option on the menu.
Popped in with no booking but they were able to seat us. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was beautiful and we didn't have to wait long. Would highly recommend!
Amazing find, friendly service and great food. Came here whilst on an off reading course. The bar decor is really interesting, the landlord super friendly and the food homemade and tasty.

We popped in for an impromptu late lunch and couldn't have felt more welcomed by the owner and his staff, and the locals were also extremely welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, they brought water for our dogs, the food was delicious and brilliant value. The setting by the river was beautiful. All round recommended and we'll be making a special trip to go back again soon. It really was THAT good!!
Really welcoming landlady and team. Came here with our 3 young kids and dog. We've eaten both lunch and dinner here. We've kept coming back because of how welcoming they are. They serve great homecooked pub food. Dog friendly and they serve food all day.
We came here Sunday just gone for a spur of the moment dinner and we were not disappointed! Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection, the gravy was amazing and even better was the fact that each person got their own gravy boat! Like WHAT! no more fighting over the gravy haha! Will definitely return here again and again! I also opted for the lemon meringue and that was beautiful too!
Had a birthday supper here with friends. Food was delicious and served hot. The proprietor was very friendly.
Went here for Sunday lunch today after our car run. Food was fab as was the service. A lovely place and reasonably priced.
26th April. It was so nice to catch up with friends over a meal in The New Tredegar Arms. The weather was perfect enough to sit in the sun 🌞.
Would recommend the delicious combo starter to share. Great selection of items cooked well - delicious 😋
