Stopped by here after seeing all the signs on the roadside. Popped in for a quick pint & decided to try the scotch egg from the menu. Glad I did as it was fantastic. Will be coming back here to try out the rest of the menu.
First time we have been here and hopefully won't be the last. The food was very very good, I had the slow cooked pork belly which I can say is easily the best I have ever had. My wife had the spinach and mushroom risotto which was excellent. We ate outside in one of the little cabins overlooking the
Looking for somewhere to eat and site we were staying on recommend this pub , landlady very helpful and let me try a drink before deciding, large food menu with plenty of choice . Me and my partner both had the belly of pork with crackling, we ate outside in one of the lovely huts in garden , large
Lovely views over the Blackdowns, even on a grey day... helped being snuggled away in one of the cute beach huts! Will definitely be back for some food, looks great!
Unbelievable meal with friends. Will be visiting again for certain.
Best pub lunch I've had in a long time. Steak baguette with cheese & onion jam. My wife had a vegetarian pasty. The chips were great and the outlook from the garden summer houses over the river valley very pretty.
Outstanding food, fabulous country pub, in beautiful surroundings. The staff are attentive, and the landlady a real character. I think the few leaving negative comments must have had a sense of humour bypass, she’s an absolute scream! We’ll definitely be going back, and will be recommending to all o
Amazing pub!! The view alone is worth the visit but the selection of ales and ciders are perfect! Didn’t eat here but food looks amazing. Shoutout to the landlord who was super friendly!! Cannot recommend enough. Cheers, Matt
Truly a local Devon pub. Amazing staff great food and a real taste of the west country. Probably the best view from a beer garden you will ever get. A must visit.
My partner and I had a fantastic meal at the Halfmoon. The food was delicious, the staff attentive and friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. I respect those who may give a less than positive review, but my partner and I do not recognise any of the issues raised as our experience (and that of our
A relatively isolated country pub with impressive views, a few decent beers, above average food and a touch of class in the design. Ignore the 1* reviews - they were co-ordinated hissy fits based on a single event. This is the best pub in the vicinity of Wellington. We have been here half a dozen
Dog friendly, and pub garden has a nice view of the hills (if you get a certain table, anyway!) Well kept Otter ale. Food was solid, and enjoyed the vegetarian platter. The belly pork (on as a special) was done well.
First time there, and so happy we went. There are proper pubs and there are gastropubs, and usually the two are very different, but somehow the Half Moon manages to be both at the same time. Lovely food, great atmosphere, and Dorian (the landlord) is so laid back and chilled.
Lovely Devon pub/restaurant with good food. Still had local character. Great landlords. Well recommended.
Good grief the Sunday roast here was amazing—the Platonic form in pork. Crackling, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, tonnes of gravy all present and correct. It’s a little remote but SO worth the trek.
