Absolutely wonderful 1st time experience eating at Amba's Kitchen last weekend. Being Indian myself, I find it hard to find authentic tasting Indian food locally in the Croydon area, so glad I decided to give Amba's Kitchen a try. Amba was there himself, which made a huge difference. His is personal, charming and honest, which are all the qualities you'd hope and look for when speaking to the owner. He gave great recommendations based on my likes and dislikes and the food did not disappoint. I can only speak for the dishes I've tried, but the lamb chops are delicious, but my favourite was the Gongoran mutton curry! Absolutely delicious and authentic. My partner had the Keralan fish curry which was lovely too. Naan breads are made fresh on site, and I appreciate the honesty about the Paratha's being made elsewhere, which not many owners would admit. Glad it steered my decision to the homemade garlic naan's as they were beautiful. I am sure Amba's kitchen is now prominently my 'local' Indian go to!

Perhaps the most authentic Indian restaurant around Croydon area. Being a foodie, I'm very picky about the quality and taste of the food and this place has never disappointed me with the food to die for. I've tasted both Veg and non-veg starters and mains and all of them tasted very good, I can't pick any single favorite dish here as they must be tasted to truly appreciate it. You chose any item from the menu, you can't go wrong. However Biriyani at this place needs a special mention. I've tried Biryanis at many places around London but biriyani here is undeniably the BEST dum biryani you can taste in London. It has got some magic touch to it. My family and friends love the authentic taste of the food and also the ambience of the restaurant. Staff are nice and professional and so is the owner himself. Very passionate bunch of people working at this place. Certainly highly recommended place.

I visited with a big group on a bank holiday Monday and the restaurant was bustling and lively which is not surprising given the excellent food and friendly welcome from Amba himself as we arrived. The menu has a broad selection of South Indian dishes, all cooked to perfection with beautiful flavours, and you can choose how spicy you'd like them to be. The mango fish curry was a particular highlight for something new to me, but it was all delicious and as we were leaving several of the group commented on how they'd need to come back to try more of the food. All in all a very pleasant evening and thank you very much to Amba and team for making it such a success. We'll be back!

Delicious Indian food in Croydon.. Starting with amazing in-house Bartender cocktails and mocktails 🍸 🍹..must try. Traditional Indian non-veg Starters with delicious and so far the *best biryanis* in and around Croydon.. I knew the main man (Owner Ambaji) since few years in Croydon and seen him being so passionate about food being served to people is next to none.

Passing through Croydon for the evening and was looking for a nice Indian restaurant. Don’t often write reviews but had such a lovely meal at Amba’s kitchen that i had to share. The butter chicken was the best I’ve ever had, parotta and spicy potato’s were amazing. Really authentic and amazing flavours. The owner was so friendly and was always checking on the guests and the waitress was really nice and attentive. Next time we are near by we will definitely be popping in! Thanks again

Visited last night and really enjoyed the food. Very tasty main dishes. I had the moms chicken curry and it was lovely. Staff nice and friendly and relaxed dining. The food is not your typical run-of-the-mill UK Indian and is different, I highly recommend.

I’ve probably eaten at 100 Curry houses in the past year, all over the country. This is definitely top 3. Mom’s Chicken Curry was amazing, and all of the dishes we ordered were incredible. Lovely family owned place.

Excellent food, great conversation with Amba himself. Being Indian, I can tell difference between cuisine served at Amba's Vs majority of other places. This was our first visit and given quality, ambience, taste, its rank 1 on our list for more visits. I also had kids along who fully enjoyed the meal. Specially nan bread which most UK restaurants serve thick and large piece Vs Amba's was traditional Indian. We chose Amba's for our 1st visit with random selection. And very glad we found Amba's.
