Have been to the Purley Way branch of TGI's many many times and cannot fault it at all! Very child friendly, party friendly and the staff there really looked after us on each occasion.
I've sampled plenty of cocktails there and enjoyed particularly the June Bug, the Royaltini and the Hurricane.
Food-wise, I've sampled plenty too, so can highly recommend the JD Ribs, the Chicken Fajitas and the Ribeye steak, though their burgers are pretty good too.
Their kid's menu looks good too and although I've yet to take my son in there, I'm pretty sure he'd go for the chicken tenders though it would be good if they had a very small steak of some kind on the menu too as, being into Minecraft, he would also opt for a 'Minecraft steak'! ;) Great value though for the kids' choices!
Make sure you leave room for a dessert! ;)
Depending on when you come the waiting time can vary, though we've never encountered any problems.
TGI Fridays is the perfect start to a perfect weekend. I think I've probably eaten here at least 25-30 times! And London has some amazing choices for awesome burgers. Location is perfect with great tram and bus connections. Every visit, I have left the place satisfied and ready for the rest of the night and weekend. Love the desserts.

TGI Friday is the definition of American diner and you get that feeling as soon as you step into the restaurant. This specific store is very large and situated opposite the purley way food court, they got a big bright neon sign, so you can't really miss it.
It was actually my Birthday and wanted to have a good meal with all my close friends. My friend rang up and booked a table in advance and all we had to do was turn up. The staff were very welcoming with a big smile on all their faces. They escorted us to our table and they did a fantastic job of decorating the area with balloons and banners.
Food wise I decided to go with the following:
Starter - Garlic bread
Main - Jack Daniel's Chicken
Dessert - Chocolate dirt cake
The food was absolutely amazing, especially the Chicken and the Jack Daniel sauce was just sublime! I ordered the chocolate dirt cake - IT WAS UNREAL! Soft, chewy and rich in chocolate, I would definitely go there just to have their dirt cake.
Right before the desserts, the staff played a Birthday song and made me stand up on a chair with a mini cake and a lit candle. The staff were all singing and encouraged everyone to sing along. This was an amazing experience and made my birthday extra special. If you are planning a birthday meal, definitely give them a try as they are organised, enthusiastic and will give you a night to cherish.
Went with my mum for our birthday lunch. It was a lovely afternoon, the service and food was great. The only thing is, due to supplier issues, ribs were not on the menu. But with a free birthday cake and a fabulous rendition of the TGIF Birthday song by Carla (edited to correct name) and Jahlil, topped off our birthday celebration nicely 😀 would definitely go back

We had a lovely dinner but nothing else. Both me and my husband felt while the food is delicious, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. After a starter and main course we were still hungry. We booked a table and had to wait 15 mins. Our waitress was okay, she was nice but she wasn’t very knowledgeable. We asked her about some offers and she said ‘yeah kids eat free anyways with a main course’ and then when we ordered dessert we asked if we can get a free dessert with the voucher and she said yes, but we can’t choose any. We picked the dessert and gave her the code. When we asked for the bill, guess what the kids menu was charged. She said, oh I haven’t got the code yet. So we redeem the code and gave her. She comes back and says ‘you can’t use two codes, you have to pay for the kids meal’ which is fine, but we specifically asked 3 times. She assured us we can get it. We wouldn’t have taken the extra dessert if we couldn’t use the code. We told her we already redeemed the code so how can we use it next time and she said ‘you can’t’ she didn’t apologize. I feel it was 100% her fault as she didn’t know. She should have doubled check. I had a red flag warning when the table behind us asked for a rum and coke and she asked if Jack Daniel’s would be good 😳😂
Went here for the first time and can say my experience is very positive! The restaurant itself is pretty cool, it is very American which is great, has movie posters, guitars, basketball and other American things hanged up on the walls, as well as very American music, from country, to rock to Madonna, food was great and very tasty and was drinks, Rio our host was absolutely wonderful I don’t think I’ve ever had such a nice a host before as himself, he definitely deserves massive recognition, he made sure we were happy and that all our orders were correct as well as he had such a welcoming and happy energy as well as being pretty chatty which is always nice, he definitely values his customers!
Loved the food and loved the place. Thanks to Amy P. who served us. She was lovely with the kids and had a smile throughout. We availed the ongoing offer where kids eat free and it was well worth the money. TGI food reminds me of my trips to America with huge portions and loaded chips and wings. I only have one recommendation for the franchise, that is, to have more specific vegetarian option sorts of bean burger or veggie burgers and not the vegan meat substitutes.

I've been to this branch many times over the years, and have found that is has declined. Years ago it was much busier and a very good atmosphere - now not so much.
On this occasion the service was quite bad - but I do not blame them, they were clearly understaffed, with only a handful running around, so much so that a good portion of the venue was kept empty to make it easier to server select parts. I don't think this is a common issue, though.
Food was solid and enjoyable, which is always has been - I've never had a 'bad' bite at TGIs, at worst a luke warm but easily replaced one.
Overall I'd give this branch a 4/5, i think the days of 5/5 here are long gone but its not as bad as some make out to be whatsoever.
The waitress her served me deserved a healthy tip which she got, she even asked "are you sure?" which proved that fact.
Would come again.
Booked in advance today for my birthday. Unfortunately when we got in there was no one at the front desk, so we wandered in. No one at the bar, wandered about. Two members of staff singing happy birthday and they rushed off to the kitchen after, leaving the floor completely empty and us wandering until my husband went towards the kitchens to call for someone. After that though, service was fantastic. Felt we waited quite a long time for food, but it was nice when it arrive, not very hot (strangely the plates were hot but not the food), but tasty.
The place could have done with a good cleaning. There was a lot of stickiness around probably because servers only have time to wipe things down at best, but the tables were definitely overdue a good clean.
Honestly the staff friendliness was the best part and the cocktails were quite nice. Music was not too loud, we could hear eachother talk. And the vibe was fairly cheery.
Would go again.
Went with my friends for a birthday dinner and the food was great. The waitress Ava who served us was friendly and bubbly. Good customer service. Definitely recommend it.
How did I miss this place inspite of this amazing place being just 20 mins drive from home???
Wow!!! Just loved their burgers- my kids were all over it. I enjoyed the chicken with sesame seeds- finger licking delicious. The ambiance was fabulous- it gives the real American feel and the portion sizes were great too.
The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The only downside is that the service was super slow and some of the items that were ordered came quite late - they can definitely do with a bit more faster service.
The taste of the food , friendly staff and the ambiance definitely deserves a 5 star
1st time in this location after many many years. Still a great vibe and ambiance. Food took long to come and had to keep asking waitress to check on the food. When it did come the mains came first. My main was alittle bit disappointing as the meat was a little tough and didn’t really fall off the bone like it should. Starters were great I’d definitely be back for them (10/10) And the cheesecake, was good but nothing special. All in all decent meal, thank you.
We came here a few weeks ago and was served by the lovely Kieron. He was polite and welcoming and made sure everything was okay, and he made us laugh. Overall we had a good time and the food was great.

Not been to this TGIs before. But was craving a rack of ribs. Was greeted and seated quickly. Drinks orders and the starter of Mac and cheese balls came out quickly. These were tasty but didn’t understand a cold cheese sauce with a hot Mac and cheese ball.
Onto the mains. Ordered the full ultimate rack of ribs and sesame chicken. I asked if the ribs were big and was told they are huge and only go for them if you are really hungry.
After 30 minutes of waiting we asked the waiter if it will be much longer. We were told the food was sent back as it was unacceptable to serve and it would be another 5 minutes. No one came to tell us this it was only mentioned when we asked.
The food took another 20 minutes to arrive. It was tasty but the ribs weren’t as big as it was made out to be. I was still hungry after. The staff who served us apologised many times for the delay.
I would go back as the food was nice.
The food was great, filled me up. Had an amazing server by the name of Ava, she was kind and tried to serve us our food on time. Tipped her £10 because of how good she was. It also wasn’t as busy as i thought it would be so didn’t have to wait around 😋
