Just been to Yah-so with some friends and what a lovely experience is has been.
Food was absolutely fantastic, so much so , I just had to finish my meal even though I was full. Delicious, hot and fresh (the festivals were to die for). The decor mimics that as if you were in the Jamaica. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Would definitely go again and recommend anyone who reads this review to give it a try. You won't regret it!
I had the sea bass and plenty of cocktails, I can't fault them! Seabass was flavoursome, I asked for pepper but once I tasted the fish, I honestly didn't need it. I very much enjoyed. I'm funny with Mac& cheese, but it wasnt too bad lol. I will definitely be back. Probably one of the first Caribbean places where all the staff are genuinely smiling and welcoming! Both Lauren and Andrew were the perfect Host and Hostess! The chef even came out and asked if we were happy with our meals too. Lovely place, good vibes, music playing, decorated nicely and even better, I didnt have to go to the bathroom to wash my hands....nice touch! Hope to see you again very soon 🍸🍹🍸🍹🍸🍹🍸🍹
Took my friend on Friday 27th May 2018 with another friend & we had such a great evening food was lovely great ambiance cocktails were perfect..and the staff were all lovely.. even though we had many different staff serving us we weren’t over charged, we were even served by the owner lovely lady & we like that she had time for her customers can’t complain my friend enjoyed her birthday evening out and we’ll definitely be going back again.
YAHSO was all and more than I expected. After waiting for months for it to open. The wait was truly worth it, not only did the food look exceptionally attractive and appealing to the eye. It taste very appetising also. The house salad was one of my favourite a fusion of pine nuts; pumpkin and avocado with a sweet fruity dressing. Vegetarian are beautifully catered for. The blouse and skirt dish tantalised my friend taste buds. Followed by Cocktails with imaginative names and just as an appealing kick. The decor exteriorly and interiorly is eye catching and welcoming. The only slight fault I could find was the over attentive waitress. You don’t want to be forgotten but neither do you want to be constantly asked have you finish and rushed into ordering a dessert and another drink. Having said we enjoyed ourselves so much we staid for just over three hours. So the bonus is on this occasion, time didn’t seem to be a problem. Great night out, worth a visit.
Had a great night! Nothing better than a catch up with the girls over some amazing food and cocktails. My starter and main were full of flavour, everything was well seasoned. The cocktails? Let’s just say there was no rum spared . Yah-So, my new favourite local restaurant.
Beautiful venue, great for the little ones and staff cool, the owner, what a star, professional and accommodating. Made my 50th very special with my 40 guests. My Yah-So Birthday song, Wow!!!!
Went for my birthday dinner with family. The food was excellent. The only thing I would say is the waiting time for the food is far too long.
Been there twice so far and though there was evidence of obvious new business glitches, the experience was amazing and the food and cocktails were excellent. I love the overall atmosphere and I'm certain it will be a go to place for many including hubby and I.
We celebrated my dad's 71st birthday. The food was very tasty i sampled several dishes along with my own, yummy! The service was exquisite, they were very patient and serenaded my dad with a happy birthday song accompanied by the drums. Definitely will return again.
Meal was really delicious. Presentation could not be faulted. Atmosphere and social setting was great. Even the cocktails were on point. Shame that the service let them down. I was not informed that the area were I was sat was included in a large booking for later that evening. I ate leisurely ( I am by nature a slow eater) starters and main main course. With an adfirional cocktail. When I requested the dessert menu I was told that I am unable to have a dessert as the area is required and there is insufficient time. Totally Gobsmacked! What happened to communication, why was I not informed earlier, I could have ordered earlier. Why was I not offered alternative seating ( just 2 of us), perhaps even on the outside terrace it was a balmy evening. Needless to say service required improvement. I was highly disappointed. The suggestion of ordering a dessert to takeaway, just added insult to injury.
That being said, I will return as I do enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere, background music is generally pleasing.
We had a table booked for Sunday night but had to wait a while to be seated, however we did receive an apology for the wait.
The food was delicious but I found the curry goat just slightly on the saltier side. The portions were on point as were the cocktails, especially the daiquiri.
Lastly, there's a nice vibe, authentic music, a welcoming decor and the staff were courteous. As a resultWill definitely return.
I’ve tried to go a few times and each time customer service was poor so we left. Today the table we sat at kinda smelt funny. Almost like a bin that needed to be taken out. There were also loads of fruit flies buzzing around. However, the food actually arrived within 30 min unlike what I expected and it tasted really good. It was a small portion though and could have been warmer. They were slow to bring drinks but compensated with a free cocktail. £40 for the 2 of us, drinks included but no desserts.
Oh my gosh. I live in Kent and was in London, visiting friends. I discovered this place. The whole experience was amazing. Staff really friendly and although busy, we're really attentive. The food was incredible, I had the prawn starter which was incredable, you'll definitely be licking your fingers with this one. The flavour combinations, oh my gosh, with a hint of spicy heat. I loved every mouthful. I then had curry goat, rice and peas. The goat was off the bone and melt in the mouth tender. Again the flavours and spicy heat was spot on. Generous portions and delicious. Thank you for the amazing experience. Respect, peace and love to you all @Yah-So Caribbean. 1❤️ I will definitely be back. I highly recommend you visiting. Steve
Lovely Restaurant with good atmosphere. It was busy but service was good. Their punches were on point. Good portion sizes and I was stuff after my main meal and couldn't go for dessert.
Yahso, food is well-cooked and tastes nice, good size portion. Cocktails are strong.
The staff was pleasant and friendly.
The only drawback I found with them is the service can be a bit slow even to order a drink. Once they improve on that, they'll be on point.
No parking, you will need to park on the side road on a meter. Worth a visit.
The food is fresh and taste amazing the service is on point the atmosphere is remarkable I would go back with out a doubt
Went yesterday Yah so is always a pleasure just the drinks can take long but deffo worth the wait just order 2 at a time of doing cocktails, the food is always amazing and the staff is always professional and accommodating.
Atmosphere is lovely, food taste excellent, the cocktails were ok. I enjoyed the visit. My birthday was well spent.
Food always been amazing, when I visit here and the cocktails always lush too. Alway a good experiencd
We visited this place recently to dine in after so many months and it was a good experience. The restaurant interiors are beautifully done and coupled with the music, it felt like we were in a different country. Staff were good and service was quick.
The cocktails were excellent and we loved each one of them. Calamari was beautifully cooked and we loved the sweet potato fries. The crab legs, however, was a bit disappointing as it hardly had any meat in it. The plantain chips was very oily and didn't taste as good as we had it previously. The mains included goat curry and rice, oxtail and rice and the seafood platter all of which were delicious. The steak was alright but not enjoyed much by our friend. Overall, a great place to spend your evening and we will be returning for sure.
A wonderfully delightful Jamaican restaurant ,one of the better ones, my first ever experience here(18 months ago )was not a good one, so I haven't been here for a while , this time almost everything was right , only the time from being seated to actually having my order taken (20 minutes) cast the slightest of Shadows on a beautiful meal and evening with my sister and niece (thank you for my up-and-coming birthday dinner) jerk belly pork rice and Guinness mac and cheese. Once the service head started it was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back
Food is on point! Not a single bone in my Curry Goat, just beautiful tender meat! Food came quickly, maybe because we ordered ahead due to being part of a big group for a birthday. Staff were friendly. My only concern was the seating was very tight around our table, making one seat unusable and the staff were unwilling to provide an alternative. This reduced my marks for the service.
Nice place to visit the Caribbean food. I wasn’t used to this version of Jerk chicken but it was very nice. I was there when it was not too busy but still service could’ve been better but in hindsight I was served by an amazing server. She was absolutely attentive the running round like a headless chicken everywhere else.
You can’t go wrong! Every item I’ve had on the menu tastes great, they know how to make a good cocktail, staff are friendly and helpful, atmosphere is lively or laid back, depending on what time you go, great for all ages. I’ve been plenty of times and will keep coming back!
