Definitely one of the best pubs in Croydon, amazing beer garden, great atmosphere and lovely staff.... I suggest getting here early for seating in the garden as it's such a poplar pub but that's not even a bad thing either just shows how great it is!!

Lovely pub with plenty of space inside and out. Great beer garden with enclosed booths that have TV's in, perfect to watch a game on! There is also an area outside that can be reserved and spacious main area with lots of seating - perfect for a sunny day!!! Prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good. They have an outside kitchen area so smelling the food cooking definitely entices you! As there is not many places in Croydon with good beer gardens it does get very busy, so be prepared! Staff are friendly and I definitely recommend everyone to visit!

Great having a pub garden on a gorgeous sunny Saturday afternoon for lunch with bunch of friends. Really good pub grub, staff friendly & great when the garden bar was opened later in the afternoon. Would definitely visit again.

One of best pubs in Croydon, if not the best. Bar staff aren't too bad too - some better than others

Amazing wee Croydon gem!! Beautiful pub tucked away just off Surrey Street. Beautiful inside and out. Loads of seating with outdoor heaters too! Great choice of greats, and they serve food including fresh pizza too! The barman was so friendly and welcoming. Already planning my next visit!

Brilliant 'olde worlde' pub with friendly, knowledgeable staff & great surroundings. Such a relaxing place full of interesting memorabilia and a really nice feel to it, could've stayed all night.....this is how pubs should be !! Will definitely return when next in Croydon. Many thanks

I remember the dog and bull in the 90s. It is different yet the same. Locals tend to be friendly. If you are looking for a real traditional English pub, this is it. Oldest pub in Croydon and still one of my favorites. Don't know if they still have one man bands and pearly kings and queens, but still a nice place for a pint.

Been going here for years. It's a hidden gem as there are not that many pub gardens in Central Croydon. From the front you'd expect this to be a quaint lil pub but the back garden is massive and very inviting when the weather is nice. A little pricey on drinks but hey ho!

Great beer garden. Can't comment on food, as we have never ate here. I wish they'd get some different wines, but the house wine was OK.

Wonderful old pub in downtown Croydon. The staff were lovely and very helpful. A smallish bar with a setting area off to the side and another small room behind the bar. Out the back is a sizeable well furnished beer garden with booths around two sides and a bbq place that I'm told provides great food Wednesday to Sunday. The Guinness was excellent as was the Young's Original.

Good atmosphere and patio. Inside is smaller but very nice too. Busy place so service was a bit slower. Only had drinks and would recommend visiting.

Popped in here today with my disabled girlfriend on the off chance they might have a table for lunch and doing food. Glad we did! Really friendly staff, good choice of alcohol, if you are a fan of young brewery they were offering light and bitter and ram and special. There was a separate food place to buy from, exceptional food cooked to order that was Jamaican style. We had 2 lots of chicken wings, one was pineapple and ginger sauce and the other was mango habanero sauce and we also had fries which were hand cut and seasoned (sorry forgot to get a picture of those). The waitress from this place was also really friendly. We initially went for just an hour and ended up staying around 2.5 hours. I would recommend booking as it got busy but we was lucky enough to get a table. Disabled access down the side of the pub and a outside toilet with a ramp to that area make it a welcome change in Croydon. Hidden pub that we will definitely head back to. Prices reasonable for the area and they started playing music through speakers as we left around 5pmish. Outside has a covered area and a few gazebo pods, the covered area has pub style benches and tables and a few booths. Overall we would return again. Thanks to everyone that was working there that day, pub and food kitchen included

What a lovely traditional looking pub inside, and wonderful and spacious beer garden, and food too. Will definitely go there again 100%, although the only problem is the price of alcohol, which I was not happy with but such is life sadly.

Cool Spot. We almost had a hard time understanding the strong English accent of the bartenders. But we managed to work out the misunderstanding since we were the foreigners and everyone speaks credit card payment.

A hidden gem of a pub in Croydon. Lovely beer garden with loads of booths. The food is delicious if a little bit expensive. The staff are quirky and can be a little rude but it's all part of their charm...I suppose.

Dog & Bull is a great pub in the heart of Surrey Street Market. The vibes are unique and special at the moment because of the current situation, you get to have a pint in the midst of a market amongst the hustle and bustle of Croydon!
