Love this place, very regal, wonderful decor and great team. Can be hard to get any attention on Friday nights. As I don't really drink not a problem for me! Food is great :) The decoration and ambience is great, definitely one of the most upmarket venues in Croydon. They do pay attention to the little things and the pies are great. The food menu and items are brilliant. It's really good traditional English food.

Really nice traditional British pub. The staff are well presented and friendly, making the place feel much more expensive than the prices. Open area seating and little nooks to hide-away in. Had a wonderful time here, fully recommended.

I had a mosey on down to Croydon to sample some of it's watering holes and first up is the The Spread Eagle which is a fabulous former bank building. As you can see from the picture it's a behemoth of a boozer and they don't waste the space at all. Upstairs is a theatre where they hosts regular comedy nights and the downstairs is a big old booze emporium which is run by Fullers and they know a few things about pubs. If you’re after a large pub that pulls no punches this is one for you.

Wanted a space to watch live Premier League game and eat and this was perfect. Great atmosphere in traditional English pub surroundings over two levels with enough screens to watch the game from multiple angles.

Nice enough pub. Very helpful when I had left something there, they kept it safe for me to pick up the following day

Really nice relaxed place to go. Pie was solid with very little gravy. Too much time on the microwave. Chicken Also dry

Wasn't aware this had changed hands from a Fullers to a Whelan's until I came in yesterday but I do think it has changed for the better. Great selection of beers, friendly staff and seems to be more of a pub atmosphere inside.

Had a fantastic time at this pub. I booked for 10 of us to watch Autumn International rugby and was given a private room upstairs complete with dining table, sofas, a large tv and speakers. Staff were friendly and easy-going. Drinks reasonable value for London.

We've never eaten here before, but we will now. The food and portion size was incredible. Lovely food with a good selection of drinks and good atmosphere, what else do you need from a pub

Great pub and staff, the roast lamb and beef were amazing and were quick to serve the food even though it was busy. 👏
