Really lovely food. Not everyone likes calves liver but if you do mine was truly the best I have eaten. I recommend the sharing baked Camembert.

I booked a meal here purely by choosing it off the internet based on location. What a find! From the moment we walked in, the place had a wonderful feel about it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious, and very good value. We shall be visiting again without doubt!

Great food, our go to place when we fancy something really well cooked. My wife and I have been going since we first discovered the place about 3 years ago. Steak is always excellent and makes it very difficult to try other items on the menu! Gets really busy now, so best to book in advance for more than two people. Keep up the good work.

My roast dinner today was easily in the top 3 I have ever eaten (from a pub or restaurant) perhaps even the best - it's probably 8 years since I had a contender, so comparison is difficult.
I had the topside beef roast with tender stem broccoli, shredded kale, cauliflower in a beautiful cheese sauce, goose fat roasted potatoes, roast carrot & parsnip and a very tasty Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Horseradish was served on the side. After a few hours, I followed it with a sticky toffee pudding which is served with a wonderful luxury vanilla ice cream (their ice cream menu is something I'll be back to try). My friend had the banoffee pie with malted banana ice cream (also amazing)

This place is a beautiful example of a country local pub with regulars greeting staff by name and dogs every bit as welcome as their humans - there's even a jar of complimentary doggie snacks on the bar!
The staff are friendly and well trained, the ambiance of the place is exactly what you want on a Sunday and the food is phenomenal. It certainly didn't hurt that they serve Brakespear beers either. They have a nicely sized garden, are family and pet friendly and have a car park. If you're going on a Sunday, it's probably a good idea to book...
Well done to the whole team, and thanks!

Had lunch here today, the food was lovely, staff very welcoming. Very kind to our dog. We will definitely be going back. Try the BBQ pork belly bites, loved by us and the dog! Best I've ever had.

Nice meal with friends but it's not the cheapest place and if I'm honest other local places within Wokingham/Crowthorne do better food and better quality for about 1/3 less for both food and drinks. Starters and Puddings are especially expensive. Liked the dining room though and the young lad who served us was good. With the cost of living increase probably wouldn't return as I just don't think it was amazing value for the money.

Came here for a late lunch on a weekday. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. Absolutely loved the calve liver main - tender and very delicious. Not so happy with the rib eye - sort of too thin for what we’re used to with a rib eye steak; the skinny chips were fresh and yummy! Also loved the toffee pudding!

This is one of our favourite pubs for Sunday lunch. Dog friendly in the bar and garden, service is always great and the landlady is always very welcoming and friendly. The garden is lovely, and the bar cosy - if you’re after a Sunday lunch and haven’t booked, best to arrive early to secure a table in the bar, as they are usually fully booked on a Sunday! Can’t recommend highly enough.

Amazing country Pub. You can spend hours socialising. Outdoor area is great and a lot of character inside. Food was good. Maybe could have some more cask beers to offer.

Decent pint and coffee at the Crooked Billet. It's a brakespear pub, and a couple of decent ales on tap. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and a couple of tables free. Food looked delicious too.

We went here for lunch for my Grandma's 90th Birthday and it was simply fantastic. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcomed by the staff, when they realised it was my Grandma's birthday they were so excited for her and made her feel very special. The food was beautiful, really fresh, really well presented and tasted amazing. Portion sizes were great for the price, we actually said that we thought the price was very reasonable and was representative of the quality of the food without being extortionate. Between us we had the Ploughman's, the Scampi and a Pate Starter but as a main ... and it was delicious!! The entire front of house team inc the owners who I realised I knew through work, made us feel incredibly welcomed, nothing was too much trouble and the whole lunch was a lovely way to celebrate a wonderful Grandma's 90th Birthday!! Thanks to you all for a lovely time xx
