I hadn't been here for a few years - last time I went service was slow but was much improved this time round and quality of food was generally good. My main had potatoes that would have been better if cooked a bit longer but otherwise high standard of food
After driving past here driving to Ashdown Forest during the pandemic, we finally ate here. I didnt fancy the veg roast so had a delicious mushroom on toast with onion rings. Husband had a roast, kids had a lovely pizza and garlic bread, and sausage and mash. Really warm helpful quick service. Lovely location.
Great place...staff so helpful and friendly. We were walk-ins on Sunday lunch..lucked in with last table. Both had speciality burger - amazing ...thanks all at Crow and Gate
Amazing impromptu lunch with friendly and warm hospitaility straight after visiting Hundred Acre Wood and Pooh Sticks Bridge. Photo of AAMilne and a Pooh Bear print inside. A childhood dream realised. The food was beautifully presented and really tasty, will definitely return.
We were very pleased with our second visit. Me and my partner had a great service. We'd particularly like to thank our amazing waitress Elizabeth who provided us with the best friendly customer service. She was professional and curtious and took pride in her work.
We definitely recommend the pub to freinds and family.
The food is always good, and reasonably priced. On this occassion we were looked after by a very charming and efficient young lady, who is real credit to you. I am sorry I did not get her name, but she was excellent everything she did.
Our second lunch visit since arriving in the area in August. Both visits were enjoyable and the food was great. LOVE that Elderflower Spritz!
Had a wonderful evening with the Wife and friends. Friendly staff who knew their stuff and if they weren't sure it wasn't too much for them to check details. Very clean inside and great decor. Looked popular with locals too. Food was cracking, the Mrs had arancini starter and the scallop and king prawn linguini (she loved it but did keep eyeing up the awesome looking cod and chips) and I went for soup of the day (broccoli and potato) starter followed by steak and ale pie. Soup was good, the pie was fantastic, rich gravy, crusty pastry and very tender beef. Whiled the evening away with good conversation and no pressure to leave...an excellent evening out. Would visit again. (Wheelchair accessible from rear car park,...no idea if dog friendly, but on that score I couldn't be bothered to take note).
Went in for a lovely meal yesterday and had the best service from Phoebe! She was so helpful in choosing what food to order, she recommended the burger and it was beautiful. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Wow the team here are awesome! So friendly and welcoming and hard working. Stopped by today and the 2 girls that welcomed us were just superb! People make the difference #firstimpressions. WELL DONE😍
