It’s worth pointing out that this take away has changed hands twice recently. The first occasion in 2022 what appears to have lead to the negative reviews. It changed hands again in 2023.
Certainly our fish and chips were great, freshly cook, nice crisp batter, difference in size between large and medium fish.

Glad I stopped! Cod was cooked perfectly, with lovely crispy batter. Chips were good as well. Cooked to order, so has to wait a bit which isn’t a problem for great tasting food.
Loved the homemade tartare sauce.

I have been going to Bennett’s for years. It is the best fish and chips in SE of England. Always so friendly and everything cooked. Quality is consistent and excellent. Anybody who lives in the area, give it a try.
Best chippy I have ever been to. Generous portions and lovely staff. The scampi was amazing and my Dad said the Cod was the best fish he had ever had! Great social distancing in place, can't praise highly enough. Keep up the great work!

Efficient and quick service with an order not quite on menu, friendly team running the evening's proceedings in spotless looking chippy. The proof is in the eating, and the chips were excellent. Recommend.

We had a takeaway last night.... & wow! I had scampi & it was the best scampi I've had ever. Perfect! My father had the largest & most succulent cod he has had from a takeaway. The staff are so lovely & chatty. Highly recommend!! Will be back for more!!!!!
Wifes idea, and a good one! It's the only fish and chip shop she likes......and very friendly staff....even gave me a massive extra portion of chips as we had to wait for a second order. I had to look twice at the price of my huss and chips as it seemed to cheap!.....massive size fish and it was the only size they offer......😊
Great freshly cooked fish and chips. Lovely staff. Always my first choice when in Crowborough.
Only down side is for me personally the portion of mushy peas is very small and therefore not good value.
Very nice fish and chips for a good price. Not quite five star because they do not accept card payments which can be an inconvenience for some customers, especially when Apple / Android Pay are becoming increasingly popular.
