Lovely food .!the gentleman that owns it was very welcoming and the surroundings are beautiful . I can't recommend this place enough x
The best cafe, bistro in the area by far and run by cyclists. No better cafe stop on a sunny day sat outside overlooking the lake and the food is first class.
Great place for a stop off with the nicest flap jacks & friendliest staff will definitely be back again
Always a welcome, good food, lovely location, outdoor seating in a bit of a sun trap. The only down side is, I like it there so much, all my rides seem to include a visit. Must try some other routes!
A little hidden gem of a Cafe. Great coffee, amazing breakfast. Wonderful atmosphere. Oh and look out for a little cycling photographic exhibition of mine coming soon! 🙂👊🏻
Showed up today after the cafe had closed. The two owners were still on site and offered to serve me even though they had closed. You just don't get that level of service anymore. Truly exceptional. A great location also. I will definitely be back. Thanks Damien and John (Hope i remebered your names correctly).
Cycled out to this little gem today, after discovering Twin Lakes Velo Café via FB eariler this week. Was certainly worth the ride. Excellent coffee and cake. Good to find an independet café that's not too timid to put a bit of zizz into their coffee. Many independents serve up mediocre coffee, but not this one. Will be back, have a couple of friends in mind too who we would also bring.
Lovely welcoming cafe with great food and friendly staff
Lovely place, great stop off cafe on the bike. Good coffee, breakfast & cakes.
We have just had a lovely evening at the Twin Lakes Velo Cafe, Primarily A Millenium Club night but we had a tasty meal A couple of pots of tea and despite our promise not to have cake We shared a massive slab of Carrot Cake with two scoops of vanilla Icecream It is a beautiful cafe on the edge of the twin lakes ,very quiet and a lovely place to chill out and chat We will definitely go there again soon
Lovely & friendly owners, food freshly made. I brill place to go fir lunch or s cake, after a walk or cycle.
I always enjoy the Cafe Velo , friendly helpful staff, good coffee ☕️ a great location by the lakes and fellow cyclists to chat with. 😃👍
This was my first visit to the Velo cafe and I wasn't disappointed. Very friendly staff fantastic views lovely people and most importantly welcoming cyclists we will be returning ! The food was excellent and very reasonably priced it won't break the bank!
Came up trumps for me yesterday afternoon ,quick hot coffee to warm me up a bit , super service can't fault them
Great venue, smashing food and friendly staff - always a warm welcome. What more could a cyclist ask!!
great cafe with friendly staff, I will defiantly be returning
Great stop off, lovely service & best tea cakes ever
Nice clean environment, inviting menu and groovy staff. Drinking a hot chocolate while sitting outside in the sun with my dog. Looking forward to my next visit.
We are regular visitors to the Velo and always get great service and food and its a lovely place to stop on our rides. Today was our first ride since getting married and we got a cracking cap each from the guys. Thanks for everything, Phil and Andrea
I really enjoyed a syn free breakfast.
Not many places do them
Great little find ! Lovely spot . Friendly staff with lovely food . Can't wait to go on a summers evening .
An oasis for cyclists: great coffee, delicious food, a huge rang of tools free to use, energy and recovery stuff, spacious seating; indoor and out, cycling memorabilia everywhere. Really friendly owners and staff too. I'll see you here every Saturday and Sunday for a mid-ride nibble. A splendid addition to the glorious lanes.
Great place to have a business meeting thanks Anthony and thanks to the staff very friendly, lovely calm place by the lakes looking forward to more events, see you soon.yvonne at jasmine waves.
Friendly staff. Food lovely. Fabulous views
Went to a charity event organised by niece, never been before was very impressed, will certainly visit in the day to see the lake and and have a meal ..
Lovely tea and cake. Plenty of seats outside with a view of the lakes.
Really nice cafe stop on a popular area for cyclists. Good area to leave your bikes which is visible from the cafe. Coffee was great, as was the bacon & sausage barm.
A warm welcome awaits at the Velo Cafe. John and Julie are exceptional hosts. A hot Latte to wash down a tasty packed white barm filled with sausage and thick cut back bacon. YUM. This is a hidden gem AND you don’t even need a bike to enjoy a moment to rest after a long walk. 👍
It's a great cafe off the beaten track next to a lake.
There is plenty of seating outside so people can enjoy the views. Each of the outside bench tables is equipped with parasols, just in case the sun comes out.
There is also plenty of seating inside the cafe.
Service was quick and friendly.
Once you have placed your order, you are given a wooden spoon with a number on it, and your food will then be brought to your table. Before you leave, the counter you have a little wait while they make your drink. Then you just find a place to sit and relax.
Within a few minutes, my food arrived.
My bill came to £6.50 for a bap with veggie sausages and a large americano. Both were excellent, and at that price, great value for money..
It was, and I believe it is regularly very busy with cyclists.
When I visited, I would say it was 50/50 with cyclists and non cyclists, and it is to see why the place was busy.
In my opinion, it is one of the best cafes I have been to for quite some time.
Gotta have cheesy beans on toast!
Great place to ride to and from. Clean, plenty of cycle racks, great friendly service.
Great place. Hidden gem tucked away just outside of Croston. Popular with cyclists and has some of the best photo art on the walls. Food is lovely, nicely cooked. Service is great and they even have beers in the summer when you can sit outside and gaze out on the lakes. Highly recommended.
Stopped for a coffee and toast after a bike ride. Quick service, excellent coffee and toast. Ella took all our orders and got through the queue in no time 🙂
Lovely peaceful scenery outside, with the twin lakes in the background.
Fantastic little cafe. 5 Stars for its category. It's not a restaurant. Very simplistic but good country menu & food. Don't go expecting a high grade restaurant experience, it's a cafe after all. Very scenic location. Service and staff was great. Prices average for a cafe. Only downside is it's very popular, especially with the lycra clad, pedal power brigade.
Great place, lake pretty, plenty of seating, cafe very popular with cyclists
Called at a quiet time but still a few cyclists evident. Bet it's busy on a Sunday?
The cafe is a little off the beaten track. However, we don't know the area very well. It is nestled next to a lake which is very picturesque.
Our food was very nice where we sat outside on the benches provided. Very nice! Lots of good fodder for cyclists or anyone who cares to visit.
Superb food and excellent service. A great place to stop when out cycling. The kids love their brunch here.
Good views over the lake, outside seating, basic menu with good food. Very popular with cyclists their riding shoes make a clatter which is a noise nuisance.
Gives great views over 1 of the lakes but you are not allowed to walk ther as privately owned.
Cafe is right out in the sticks down country lanes.
