We visited the Sun Inn on New Years Eve , we had 2 motorhomes which Pauline let us stay over in the car park overnight. We had a meal in the pub and we brought in the New Year as well . The meals we had were excellent will definitely be returning here and would recommend it friends , family and motorhomers !!

Wow. My wife and I both ordered the Picanha Rump steak and were both impressed. An excellent plate of food offering fantastic value for money. The only disappointment was that I was driving so I couldn't sample a pint of ale with lunch. A taxi for me next time as we will definitely be back soon.

Hadn't visited here for years used to visit often when lived nearby. The sun inn is a hidden gem in the lakes, food was excellent and hosts very attentive and welcoming. Even showed us how to get £5 off our food bill. Will definitely be returning.

I’ll begin by thanking the lady on front of house, you are so kind and inviting! The food is beautiful. We ordered the lasagne and steak and ale pie. Both piping hot, home made, wonderful, just amazing. The atmosphere is lovely and warm. Dogs are allowed! The decor is gorgeous. Very cosy feel to the place. My other half said it is the best steak and ale pie he’s EVER had, and he eats them the majority of the time when we go out to eat. Thanks once again!

Where do I start..... what word do I use to describe the fantastic food and super friendly staff. The food is THE best in the area. We drive past every time we come to the lakes and often think we would love to stop by for food and drink and never had the opportunity. However, today, we purposely made plans and reserved a table, and I am so glad we did. Everything about this gorgeous, rustic pub is endearing. The low beamed ceilings and open fires draw a deep comfort after a long muddy walk, and the excellent food and ales are warming and delicious. We are definitely going to make this a regular stop when we return to the area. The staff work super hard to make sure you have a delightful stay.

Lovely family Sunday Lunch here. Staff attentive and friendly. It was very quiet, which we found surprising given the quality of the food. I had the vegan Sunday Roast, rest of our party had Lamb Roast and suet pie. Kids had pasta, one with meatballs, one without. All plates cleared! Puddings were delicious too. I had the vegan brownie. The sticky toffee pudding looked incredible as did the banoffee cheesecake. Decent parking, nice atmosphere. Box of colouring stuff for kids to keep them occupied.

We stayed just up the road from the Sun Inn - unfortunately it was closed for 2 days out of 3. Shame really as we did really enjoy our visit once we were able to! The food was great, with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. They take great care of dogs too, with many options available for treats! Our pup enjoyed his venison stick!

My wife and I had a lovely meal in a wonderful old and cozy country pub. The menu was full of options plus also had a good specials board. Freya who was working the bar and taking the orders was very friendly, attentive and provided great service. Our food was beautifully cooked, so tasty and we left very happy. The pub is dog friendly plus this is a gem in the beautiful countryside and if passing by definitely worth stopping.

Great traditional place. Staff were amazing and my food was tasty and a good price but it was cold which was a shame. Still loved it here though.

Free parking near the hotel. Beautiful building.!! We stay one night. Staff are very friendly and down the room is pub! Very nice break fast. Just back of the hotel direct you way to go OLD MAN. It was bit aged hotel so hotel room bathroom was aged. Overall great 👍 fantastic view from the hotel room!

What a fantastic place. The landlady is so lovely, warm and friendly. There is a doggy basket with blankets for the dogs to sit on (the floor is wooden) and there are doggy snacks and even a doggy menu. We ate there and the food was SO good. Hubby had the veggie pie, I had the fish and chips. Lovely large portions and tasted great. The sticky toffee was amazing. I wanted a Calypso coffee but they ran out of Tia Maria and the lovely landlady made me a coffee with the cream without the booze, a lovely gesture. They also have a big carpark, that you can stay in over night if you have a camper van. It is sloped up but flat once you get in there. Cannot recommend this place enough.
