As I said on Trip Advisor:
Shame that we are not local to this good family run country pub. Lunch menu included 6oz steak, good sized salmon, gammon and others, with chunky chips and salad or Mash and roasted vegetable. Mains at £9.50 with a choice of starters for just an extra £2, and a pud for just an extra £3 if you had any room left. Tribute beer was kept well and the staff were good and attentive. Food was good and cooked perfectly.
I think the bad reviews below must have been with the previous landlord but this place is really good.
Fantastic staff & atmosphere! The food is to die for & the fillet steak is the best I have ever tasted! Very impressed would highly recommend!
A wonderful village pub with friendly staff, amazing food (legendary Sunday roasts!) and a 30ft deep well as a focal point in the bar.
Great roast with equally as good service. Was seated fast and nothing was ever to much! Would 100% recommend, thank you to the whole team at the Royal Oak

OMG the food was delicious, melt in the mouth chips, the fish and the steak was superb, and pudding was to die for. Also the staff were really nice and very helpful. Thank you and we will be back.

Lovely meal in comfortable surroundings. Love the sofas and the very welcoming library area with a roaring fire, just perfect on a chilly Sunday. Thank you very much, will definitely be back
Excellent! Easy parking, friendly staff, lovely food. There were 6 of us, each chose differently from the menu, and every meal was very good. Beautiful batter, perfect pastry, nothing we could find fault with. We will be back.
Went for lunch with family. Some choices not available due to new chef. However, what we had was outstanding, very tasty and good portions. The new chef did well. Thank you. Will be visiting again soon.
Nice food, good portion sizes, I’m sure we will be back soon!
I've had a lot of burgers in my time. The chicken burger I had in this place was the most impressive I've had. Great value for money.

Lovely place. Fine setting if you like a nice beer in the country. Hostess was lovely and all in all a very pleasant place to go
Staff was very helpful including noticing we were struggling to find a parking spot so came to help. Food came out quickly and was very nice. Nice place to sit and have a drink after too with a nice view.
Amazing Sunday roast with friends here. The portions are good, the food arrived promptly, was hot and very tasty. Dog friendly in the bar area as well. Plenty parking. Recommend the stuffed chicken and the honeycomb cheesecake.
Very welcoming, good choice of beers and the best pub grub for miles around! The view from the tables outside is unbeatable, our favourite village pub.
We went to The Royal Oak last night for dinner and we had a fantastic evening.
The food was very, very good with overly generous portions and the service was superb.
I can't remember having a meal that good in a pub for a very long time.
I couldn't recommend The Royal Oak highly enough, five stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Booked a private room for a work function and quite enjoyed the experience. Solid fish and chips with great wait staff. Chef came out to check on us and must say I really enjoyed the whole experience.
Great welcome by lovely staff. Food was well presented & tasty. Good range of lagers, ciders & ales. Parking was easy.
Glass covered 38ft deep well in the bar
Fantastic venue. Attended for Father's Day lunch and we were given a warm welcome including our dog.
Food was excellent quality and the prices were very reasonable . Highly recommend this place and will continue coming back.
Lovely country pub, warm friendly welcome. Great food, good service. Menu has some different options from usual pub offerings.
Chosen at random while on a short break on the area and boy were we impressed! Friendly and efficient service. A good menu amazingly well cooked and presented. We often have the sea bass dish, but this surpassed previous experience. The deserts were also utterly delicious. Our only disappointment is that we live too far away to make this our local. Sincere compliments to the chef.
