Myself, and two special friends, my honorary god-daughters, came for a weekend birthday break. We had the most fantastic time at your beautiful hotel. The hotel, grounds, swimming pool, food was high class. All the staff were helpful and very attentive. We went for an afternoon swim in the pool and had coffee in the bar area before dinner. The 3 course dinner was a most delightful experience of fine dining. I have visited good restaurants and hotels over many years and our meal was one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had. Each course was very flavoursome and beautifully presented. A delicate blend of tastes within each course. I had pre ordered Lobster Thermidor for one of my friends and my other friend had the Wood Pigeon. They both stated the meal was the best that they had ever had. I am a vegetarian and there was a vegetarian option on the menu. The head waiter stated that they also had a further option of a Garden Vegetable Risotto which I chose and it was delicious. A very good wine list and coffee to finish a sumptuous meal. Breakfast was also high quality as I love fresh fruit and yoghurt and a cooked breakfast. My friends were equally impressed with their meal. A choice of breads and delicious marmalade was enjoyed by all of us.
Two old friends, who live in Norwich, had contacted me and arranged to come over on the Sunday morning to see me. They were made welcome and we were served coffee in the lounge.
Thank you for making our visit a wonderfully memorable experience. I would highly recommend your hotel and we hope to return.
David and I came yesterday ,for my belated Birthday Afternoon Flowery Tea.It was a beautiful journey from Cambridgeshire.
When we arrived we were shown round all rooms, which we could choose where we wanted to sit.
Very quirky, homely, relaxing place. We chose to sit in The Orangery) Conservatory.
Out tea was soon served, and it didn't dissapoint.
Lovely Jasmine Tea,with fresh flowers in lovely glasses.
Food was delicious.
Pot of tea lovely.
Another couple sat in where we were, and they came not far from where we live.
Lovely to chat,in lovely place.
A very relaxing atmosphere,it felt like we were far away from the maddening crowd, yet it was just round the corner .Best of both worlds.Staff very friendly.Thankyou ,we will be back for a longer stay.
So, we didn't stay here however my partner bought me here for my birthday dinner.....i loved every minute.....from sitting down by the bar ordering drinks and food to being taken through to the main restaurant and having our meals bought through to us. Timing between courses as perfect. Everything was cooked and presented perfectly. The staff were warm and welcoming. I left feeling comfortably full and that I had eaten very good food. This ended the day of my birthday perfectly and I would highly recommend the food to others.
We have stayed here twice, once for my 40th with another 12 families (friends not just random) which was simply one of the BEST weekends of my life, and this September in their amazing yurts for my mother-in-laws birthday, our big family booked all of them, and we sat around the fire enjoying ourselves into the night. We LOVE this place. Not only is the accommodation super cool, super kitsch, super comfortable, the staff are amazing, the surrounding scenery is amazing and the food excellent. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and cannot wait to go back! Thank you Richard and all your fabulous staff :-)))))))
Stayed in a superior room for our wedding anniversary. Beautiful room and fantastic massive bathroom with a lovely bath and separate large shower. Very comfortable bed. Had dinner in the Restaurant .Lovely atmosphere ,excellent service and fantastic food. The staff were all most friendly and attentive. The grounds were beautifully kept. Had a swim in the pool which was a lovely temperature. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will almost certainly return .Colin and Anne.
Lovely place. Highly recommend it. Nice staff, lovely location. Great food.
Had the most amazing time here this weekend thank you all for such amazing hospitality. I hope the boys didn't drink you out of wine and shots. Fully recommend staying here amazing staff and food with amazing views, grounds and immaculate rooms. Thank you again we will be back if you'll have us .
My wife and I very much enjoyed our afternoon tea here al fresco. A great choice of sandwiches and cakes, well presented by friendly staff in peaceful surroundings. We will certainly come again with friends when the holiday season is over.
We have stayed at the Grove on 3/4 occasions, with our children, with another family and for a friends suprise 50th birthday. Every stay has been great, it really is a hidden gem. The rooms are great and excellent value for money and the restaurant certainly passes expectations, you would expect to pay a far higher price for the quality. The pool is a great asset with kids especially if the weather isn't great. It's only five minutes walk to the beach.
Had a meal Saturday night , the turbot was to die for, a little disappointed three of the five desserts had run out, however I loved the trio of profiteroles.
We are having a lovely time here at the Grove! We took our children and can honestly say it's been really nice and relaxing! Very comfortable and nothing is too much trouble!
Breakfast is excellent and the children have enjoyed the pool! It's a pretty unique place
Throughly recommended by us !
Beautiful building decorated in an authentic and balanced way. The grounds are lovely and amenities etc extensive. Love the private pool use and the gardens to home grow what they can.
A lot of history is packed Into the hotel and the orchard rooms are a compliment of a modern addition without feeling out of character with their high ceilings and decor.
Staff were all totally lovely and nothing was too much trouble. A relaxed atmosphere and really cosy escape.
We were gifted a one night getaway for Christmas, and it was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Sunburst Lodge, which had a beautiful outlook on the gardens. The location itself is brilliant just a short stroll to the cliff up or the beach. In the evening. We enjoyed three course meal which was cooked perfectly. In the morning. We enjoyed a cooked breakfast which set us up for the day. The staff were all really friendly and super helpful And our overall experience for a Valentines weekend feel special.
Perfect for what we wanted. Somewhere we could have a quiet weekend walking with the dog along the Norfolk coastline. We had a wonderful time. This is the second time we've stayed at the Grove and both times been impressed with the facilities, the friendly staff and it's good value for money. The bungalow was especially good for the enclosed garden with a dog. Thank you. We will be back I am sure!
Went for a cream tea for my birthday sat in the garden very tranquil. The cream tea was lovely and they explained what everything was the lady was very helpful and checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything . It was not located near the sea front so you have to travel by car but thoroughly enjoyed it
Wonderful stay, great location, exceptional staff and service. Food was lovely, both dinner and breakfast.
Lovely selection of wines and drinks, warm and unique family room.
Would highly recommend staying and eating at the Grove.
Made to feel welcome with a real value on customer experience.
Lovely setting with a grand residence immaculately maintained. Rooms are period themed and very comfortable. Lovely dining rooms and such friendly and attentive staff. Extensive grounds and terrific indoor pool well heated and I estimate 16 metres in length. Stayed two nights and hope to return.
Wonderful overnight stay in Sunburst, from the warm welcome on arrival to returning the keys.
Having stayed a few times in the cottages and had afternoon tea on a couple of occasions, this was our first 'hotel' stay and it easily met the high standards of our previous experiences.
Breakfast was very impressive; cheerful and welcoming staff, large choice for the cereal, pastries and juice, ability to produce your own toast in a proper toaster, and then your choice of a locally sourced ingredients cooked breakfast - it took a long walk out to Wells beach to make room for lunch that day.
We will be back again.
Thank you
An afternoon tea in the garden, great range of savouries and pastries. Friendly staff with passion for food and presentation. Garden seating looking tired however good maintenance programme evident for whole site.
We had and outstanding stay here even though a short period of time. The encounters with staff from the start where enjoyable friendly and helpful. The 45min of pool time was well received and enjoyed by all of us however I beleave I had just as much fun as the kids. The room was amazing spacious well equipped homely and warm. Well need that evening as the weather was extremely cold. We didn't get to experience the restaurant however looked very inviting and delicious. We are already looking to return next year for a longer stay if possible and can't wait to get back. Thank you for the experience
First time we've stayed, or eaten, at The Grove. Recommended to us by friends. We loved the house, room, grounds and the scenic walk into Cromer. Dinner was excellent, all dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Breakfast was also of a very high standard. Staff were friendly and professional throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend The hotel and restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit.
