We had a family gathering and celebration whilst staying at a holiday rental in Crich and asked The loaf would make cakes for us. We had four absolutely yummy cakes along with millionaire shortbread it was hard to choose a favourite. We also went to The Loaf and sat in a couple of mornings for coffee and cake (we love cake) very friendly staff and tasty coffee and cake. Would definitely recommend

What an amazing day learning ‘All about the Dough’. Andy is so knowledgeable and a great teacher. Lots of hands on work as well as the theory / science behind it all which is invaluable. Delicious food served all day and tasty baked goodies to take home. Thank you so much, I loved every minute (even the kneading minutes....!)

I am just back from a German bread making course. What an astonishing day it was, too. Worked hard, learnt a lot and had great fun doing it. This is a day everyone would really appreciate. Then you get to take your cooking home :-) Thank you so much to Andy, our instructor, for an awesome experience

I do enjoyed the baking course on Sunday. I finally know how to knead properly ....and for how long. Thank you to Andrew for all the help and advice and to all the other course members for being such lovely people. It was a long day but really enjoyable and rewarding.

Just popped in for some bread for brekkie and bought your spelt and seed sourdough for a change. Just wanted to say it is absolutely flipping yummy. Having it with poached locally sourced eggs and a couple of slices of thick bacon from A Pig's Tail at Alderwasley.....perfect local breakfast feast!

I visited The Loaf on Saturday 21st January. We had seen reviews online and had been looking forward to visiting for breakfast/brunch. On arrival unfortunately no tables were available so we elected to wait inside for seating to become vacant. There is a seat in the corner of the shop adjacent to the counter that you can use as you wait and the friendly shop assistant asked us would we like a drink as we wait, we took her up on the offer and noticing that only one cheddar and stout sourdough loaf was left on the shelf asked would it be possible for them to remove it from sale and hold it behind the counter until we had eaten and was leaving? Once again the assistant was happy to help. Fortunately we did not have to wait long (approximately 5 minutes) for a table to become vacant. The menu had numerous delicious sounding dishes available and between the three of us we elected to have the rarebit and poached egg, avocado and grilled halloumi and creamy garlic mushrooms all of which were served on toasted sourdough. The food was delicious and all of us enjoyed what we had ordered, the quality of the tea and coffee was also fantastic and the service was excellent throughout. In addition to the bread, pastries and cakes the bakery also has some fantastic looking preserves and other deli items for sale. I would definitely recommend visiting this establishment if you are in the area. Thank you for our delicious brunch and see you next time we are in the area.

Great little spot, very popular with locals and visitors alike. The French country sourdough was especially delicious, much lighter than a traditional sourdough but great both fresh and as toast. Coffee was also good, as we're the sweet treats!

A friend and I did the full day bread making course last week. The whole day was excellent. The instruction was great, we learnt so much, and we all came away having made four different types of bread to take home. It was a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and we were very well looked after with drinks and lunch. We both enjoyed the day enormously and will do another course there.

We used the Loaf’s delivery (and by accident collection) service via text. We ordered loaf boxes and various items to be delivered to ourselves and our in-laws. The service provided by Suzie and the team was really good, the food itself is fresh and so tasty. With excellent feedback to all those we shared it with. I can’t wait until lockdown is lifted so we can go and try The Loaf’s cafe facilities. Thank you again, you’ve been brilliant!

IMHO they bake best bread in 50miles radius. They got an amazing selection of different rolls and bread. And on the top of that they make great cooked breekfast, so if you are ever in Crich, pop in and you will not regret it!

We truly enjoyed Loaf each time we visited. Coffee, cakes, pastries, bread and is excellent. We had the best pizza on Wednesday evening takeaway. Thin base, scrumptious filling and accompanied by side salads. Diane and the front service team was excellent. A must place to visit if you are in Crich!

Went to one of their bread making courses, I have to say it was absolutely fantastic! Really knowledgeable staff who as well as walking you through the recipes for the items you make in the course spent time helping you understand the techniques involved. The time really flew by!
