We love this place, the drinks, the food, the atmosphere and service is top notch.
The only thing on this occasion was with the wine. We chose a Provence Rose at £30 after deciding that our favourite Whispering Angel was a little pricey at £45. However, when we ordered our second bottle the same wine was not available and so we had to have the Whispering Angel at our own cost. Had this been offered at the same price as a good will gesture I would have given 5 stars.
This is not a cheap night out but it is definitely quality.
Staff are friendly, professional and attentive and never flustered even when it's busy.
Food is superb and expertly presented. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Pleasant place and friendly staff. Busy and lively place but quiet in the snug. Good food and we particularly enjoyed the sharing platter for the starter. £104 for the food and a couple of pints each. Duck and a burger for main which was good.
Initially spotted the 'Broughton' when it was getting refurbished and thought " that looks nice, we should go once its completed.. "
Unfortunately as its not on our usual commute, we honestly forgot about it, but was recommended by a colleague about its positive reviews (also, I weirdly work in Broughton, which is actually many miles away).
Anyways, initial thoughts were positive from the view on approach and even the very nicely presented car park. Good things progressed as we went in and despite being relatively busy for a late lunch, we got a table without a reservation.
Decor is good, Staff were friendly etc so down to the food first....
We ordered soup of the day. Should be relatively simple you may say, but my goodness, possibly...probably, the best I've had in a long long time, dare I say ever! I believe it was Apple and Parsnip, but realistically I could have many more portions of it!
Mains: I had the Bangers n' Mash, the good lady had the Tempura Beef Salad. In short, I was very pleased with mine. In particular the gravy (or 'jus' if you want to be posh) was amazing. That only left the minute predicament that I could of done with a 3rd 'banger' to mop it all up (as I believe licking ones dish clean would be frowned upon 😉😋).
I then remained jealous of the Tempura Beef salad which looked fantastic and the good lady confirmed it tasted just as good. I did steal a few pieces of beef too, so can confirm its great taste. 👍
Unfortunately we were filled to bursting from starter and main, so we'll have to come back for dessert (such a shame...😉🤣).
Drinks: albeit good and reasonably priced the service was very slow and needed a few prods to remind the busy table staff.
In summary, we will definitely return, but just hope they can iron out the slow drinks bit. Sorry, forgot to take pictures of the food, as we dived into it so quick, it as too late when we realised. Again, more excuses to return.
2nd visit, as promised to at least myself...
Returned as food just as great, just this time, I remembered to take pics.
Service much improved, so maybe 1st visit was teething problems.
Either way, the car park is virtually full now, and I'd recommend booking in advance, as word is clearly getting around.
Yes, a tad expensive, but worth every penny. 👌
Love the service and ambience of the place. Posh and well lit in the day with nice daylight. Fish cake and thai curry were good but I thought the haddock was too blend and arts of the batter was undercooked.
Lovely food and great cocktails. Gave service a 4 just because I had to chase up a drink and it didn’t come until after my meal. My severe nut allergy was catered for well
We came here for a celebratory meal. Alfie was our server - very welcoming, super helpful, great salesman! The food was delicious and I would highly recommend coming here.
We went for my Birthday. What a fabulous place. Atmosphere & Ambience was second to none. Quirky olives on ice. Wonderful experience.
Had not been to the Broughton before but had been to The Willow at Trentham which is owned by the same Paragon group. The Broughton is a traditional venue with a modern twist. The food was exceptional (Sunday Lunch) along with the table service from our waitress Esmae.
We had a lovely evening at The Broughton, we made a last minute booking for a celebration and were so pleased they could fit us in as we’d wanted to try here for awhile.
The food was excellent and the cocktails were incredible. Service got quite slow towards the end of the night which was odd because that’s when they were quietest but we had a great time regardless.
