Spoons #157 Good breakfast and service, clean pub Was very quiet if not a little gloomy in places due to the choice of lighting Interesting. A little walk from the short stay car parking free for an hour, access from the pedestrian zone

For a Wetherspoons pub in the south, this was very reasonably priced, the food was very good, especially the buttermilk chicken sandwich, and it also came with a free drink! Overall, quite impressive.

A nice Spoons tucked slightly away from the main town centre. The £2.99 'Top Plates, Low Rates' breakfast cannot be beaten for value.

Possibly the pub with the most family friendly atmosphere I have ever visited. They've got a healthy selection of beverages, and a decent food menu. To top it off, they even serve breakfast daily between 8 and 11:30. Easily one of my favorite pubs. They recently added a few items to their breakfast menu, including American pancakes.

Yes I bit into my food before the photo. I couldn't resist It's a Spoons. But it's a very pleasant visit. Atmosphere for a quiet drink and breakfast/ lunch is great. Speedy service and faultless hospitality. Staff are great here with a friendly vibe. Food tasted fresh. Had flavour and came out well presented. Always a fan of a Wetherspoon and this one is right in there. Great visit. If I was ever back again, I know where to go.

The pub itself looked as if it needed some TLC. Having said that, the staff made you feel welcome and were very polite and friendly. Even though there were noticeable areas suffering a bit of wear and tear it was clean. The usual array of seating options throughout with plenty of room to move around. The Guinness was excellent

This could be Rotterdam, or anywhere: Liverpool or Rome... if they had Wetherspoons in Rotterdam or Rome, that is. The point is that it is a Wetherspoons, and you know exactly what you get. A large selection of cheap drinks, you know what you get when it comes to the food, and you know pretty well what the other punters will be like. Staff are overworked (and underpaid) but do their best. On my last visit, Stuart deserves a special mention: very attentive and polite (and even interrupted his break to help out and serve). The pub is deceptively large (in that the front is not very wide but the pub goes back a fair bit and there's an upstairs, too). The bar, as in so many Wetherspoons, is long. With the cheapest pints in town it gets busy, and what you sacrifice with atmosphere you make up for with your bank balance. Tim Martin has many things to answer for, but his business model of cheap drinks is s not one of them.

Lovely classic weatherspoons can't complain about the prices shame about 1 barman with tattoos who finds walking too much for him complaining about the distance he has to walk behind the bar if you are paying cash you have to wait infront of his till and make sure you then stand near the drink you want. I couldn't care less about the amount of steps he walks I work at Gatwick Airport I easy cover 14 to 20 miles walking per shift

Quick visit, managed to eat though. I had a quinoa type salad with halloumi on top. It was very nice although the avocado was not as firm as I would like. Prices usual Wetherspoons, very good value
