I met up with some friends here so can only comment on the bar area. A lovely old building which is well maintained and has friendly and helpful staff. Situated in an ideal place to cater to people who want to explore the beautiful surrounding area. Drinks and food were good value for money.
They were able to accommodate our last minute booking of 10 despite already having a large booking of 13 at a similar time (we had phoned multiple places and kept getting turned away!) Food was fantastic and great value. The pie and mash was amazing!! Dog friendly too! Thank you again.

Food and drink both lovely. The lass who looked after us couldn't have been nicer, absolutely bent over backwards to look after us and our dog! Owner was a really nice man, and the place had a wonderful cosy, relaxed feel!
Went for tea with Santa 2night, what can I say brilliant service, lovely friendly staff, food was good too, nothing was too much trouble. We were shown to our table, drinks ordered with food & brought to us straight away. The Santa was lovely, kids had a present off him & pictures by the fire. Craft

Stopped for Sunday lunch after visiting the castle and googling dog friendly pubs nearby. The staff were friendly and our 3 course meal was delicious home cooked fayre at a really reasonable price. Will definitely go back when we visit the area again.
