I was the 501st person to like on their FB page. Apparently you had to be 500th to receive a free bottle of wine, but there were conditions associated to it apparently. These were simple. Don't be an absolute dick. Unfortunate for Mr Wroe, he failed to meet the simple criteria. Enough of him anyway. This pub is an absolute gem and without doubt the best in Cornwall. The food, beers, atmosphere, staff and literally everything about this place are outstanding. I have spent many times at the Old Albion, and even as a non-local, the welcome that I have received makes you feel amazing. I could not fault the Old Albion in anyway and would prefer to drive from Dorset any day to eat there and experience a wonderful establishment. As a gesture of goodwill to Mr Wroe, I will personally have an 'Old Albion' hoodie made for him with the slogan '#i entered, #ifailed, #storyofmylife'

Our 2nd year in Crantock & most of our meals were at The Albion. Food is top quality. I think we pretty much tried all on the menu. The lasagne is tasty. The calves liver is lush. My favorite was the deli boards. They were really well presented and the rhubarb chutney is to die for

I've been coming to this pub for over thirty years having spent many a holiday in crantock at all times of the year. The welcome is always good and the food even better. A proper pub with proper beer.

Lovely little pub. A party of six of us have just come home (unfortunately) after holidaying in crantock, and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting this pub. The staff are attentive and friendly, even reserved a dish off the specials for us!! Food is faultless, love this place-see you all next year!

Lovely thatched village pub with a rich history connected to smuggling. Wonderfully well kept beers, great menu, friendly staff and dogs welcome....what more could you want

Our dinner plans failed so went on the road to find somewhere new and what a find this was. High end food at reasonable prices. Think we were lucky to get a table at all let alone in the sunshine as when we arrived most were reserved. Food didn't take long to come out and there were empty plates all round at the end! Everyone seemed happy and relaxed. Will definitely be returning

Really enjoyed our first visit to the Old Albion tonight, as we we're staying local. Great atmosphere, plenty of space inside or out. The food is very vibrant and tasty. Very much would be returning when can. Thanks to all the friendly staff.

A great pub to eat and drink if in the area. The sea food stew was amazing but would recommend the extra bread.

Genuinely one of the best pub experiences I've had in 'peak' times. The staff despite being stressed were lovely and accommodating. The pub atmosphere was so lovely, music and TV at a perfect volume. The food was reasonably priced and unreasonably amazing quality for said price! The fish and chips are the best I've had in a long while. Dogs are also allowed here making it an easy holiday outing.

This is an absolutely crackin little place, the food was great, the environment was lovely, but most of all, the staff were incredible! So welcoming and friendly towards us and our dogs, nothing was too much trouble. Loved it so much we booked in the following day for Sunday roast 😁👍

This is such a classic country pub - warm and cosy in winter and buzzing with friends outside in the sun in summer. The food is always awesome (best Nachos in the Newquay area I reckon) and there's a massive selection of local ciders. Even better, they serve a full menu on Sunday in summer, so you aren't stuck with the 'roast or nothing' problem ☺️

Great pub with good beer in the cozy village of crantock. The food served was really good and the staff were also very friendly. Always a trip to this pub for us every time we are in the area.

Wonderfully crafted by time with an imposing range of real ales and locally fermented ciders. The food ain't half bad either with the added bonus of periodic local live music. A real gem in a sea of plasticated sameness, highly recommend.

Don't let the lack of a warm welcome put you off. The food is amazing. We've visited in the past and always been welcomed and shown to a table. This time we had to find someone to ask them if the food was still being served. No menus on the tables and no cutlery etc. However the food was gorgeous and we'd highly recommend it.

I had a pleasant time at The Old Albion Inn. I personally had the Albion burger (refer to the pictures) and I enjoyed this burger. Cooked to my liking. I also had requested to have no relish and they got my order perfect. The chips were phenomenal. 2 Others in the group had the beef brisket which they said was okay, nothing special. The potatoes weren’t as described on the menu, it just tasted more like a roast dinner. My partner had the vegan South Indian curry but with chips instead of rice. She really liked it. However it wasn’t served with a tablespoon which I had to go and ask for but that isn’t a problem.

One of a few places that we always visit when in Cornwall as the food and service has always been great and this time didn't disappoint either. Very dog friendly which is great but also offers seating in an area if you didn't have a dog. Parking is limited outside but plenty of spaces on the village hall car park just a short walk away. We parked there and walked with a dog and a pushchair.
