Just stayed here, it was great. Nice helpful welcome, checked in nicely, room was beautifully clean, happened to be eating in the restaurant with friends and can confirm, nobody was unimpressed with the food. Super little place, it was a bit stuffy with no air conditioning because it was a warm night, but there's a nice fan in the room and it wasn't unbearable at all. Parking good, pub had a nice feel. It helps that it's all in a beautiful little town.

Stayed for 10 days on a business trip and the service was really good. Room cleaned up on a daily basis, friendly staff, good options for breakfast and lunch. I definitely recommend The Richard Onslow! It's in a central location in Cranleigh with takeaway options and a Sainsbury's/Co-op within walking distance.

Had dinner here at ‘the smokehouse’ on 31st August. The place was heaving when I arrived, and walked through to the back courtyard. I felt quite old walking through!! It wasn’t a particularly warm evening which was a shame so grateful for the outdoor heaters and blankets provided. Reservation was for 2 at 730. Ambience was fab. Fairy lights everywhere and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves. Service was friendly and knowledgeable if not a tad slow - that said our ‘shared’ T-bone steak did take time to cook and it was delicious. See photos! Accompanied with mushrooms, onions, broccoli and an array of well-cooked and hot veggies. The potato salad you see was extra. TBH I thought the price a little steep for the dish at £75. That said it was delish and aside picking up the bone and gnawing the remaining meat off we polished it off - easily. For dessert we both opted for the BBQ’d nectarines. Again delish however could have done with a little more cream and the shortbreads were too huge. Neither of us had the 2nd one. The non-alcoholic cocktail list was nothing short of fabulous and at very reasonable prices. I opted for the caleno libre. Menu in photos. Different and yummy. I didn’t need anymore to drink after that it was big so had water for the rest of my meal and finished with a cappuccino. Again this was huge.

A nice pub with excellent service, clean rooms and a wonderful atmosphere. A place I really recommend a hotel and restaurant. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Service staff were lovely. Food was well presented, and good quality. Decor is nice. Nothing to write home about though. Rear garden underwhelming. There are tables out front, if you want to sit in the sun. Town centre.

A lovely pub very popular. The room was decorated nicely. Bed was very comfy, did advise them, that they may need new pillows, they were very thin really. Everything was very nice. Roast dinner was a little pricey I thought. Would go back

A good central location. Food is good and well presented. However very disappointed with the handpicked crab starter...no more than a forkful overall for the unbelievable price of £12.50!! Be warned!

Had a nice Sunday meal here. Food was good, portions were big. Service was very friendly. Could have been a bit quicker and more attentive. But no major issues. The open fire is lovely and cozy! Will come again.

Seating outside front, inside bar, restaurant and courtyard behind. Central for Cranleigh village. Easy access to restaurant for elderly mother who I've taken for Christmas lunch and at Easter. Good menu selection and daily board. I did however find the order to food arrival rather slow on both occasions which let it down. Also a little pricy, five diners, one course, only one drinking alcohol £107. Otherwise a good spot in the centre of the village.
