Had my first experience at the Snowy Owl yesterday, very busy on arrival but was nested very quickly by staff; who then arranged a table for 2. From then on, the service & food was second to none, excellent service with even better Sunday Roast dinner & very reasonable priced. Will certainly visit this place in a weekly basis, has become my favourite place to eat
First time we have dined here in many years after a poor experience but I'm pleased we did. I am so impressed! Menu choice was fantastic, reasonable prices, decor and atmosphere were really cosy and pleasant (especially with the crackling fire to welcome you out the cold), service was spot on and the food is just what I look for when eating out...proper home cooked food - nothing mass produced and frozen. Also love that it is a dog friendly place. Would definitely recommend the chicken and thyme pie - very tasty. Takes a lot for me to write a review but this place certainly deserves it and I look forward to dining here in the future.
Haven't been here for well over 10 years now but decided to visit with family for my mam's 70th birthday as she & my late dad used to enjoy popping here when they were on their travels. Must say, service was spot on, food was spot on & waiting time was spot on. I also live in Grimsby & when I rang to ask a few questions they were more than prepared to accommodate balloons & cake etc if needed. Literally cannot fault anything here so thankyou for making it enjoyable 😊
My wife and I were here last night to sample a variety of dishes from the menu.
Have to say, the food was lovely, the staff very friendly and even the lad singing had a great voice which all made for a lovely evening.
A massive well done to all the staff who I'm sure work so hard.
I'm sure we'll be back to sample more of the lovely food on offer.

Always a real treat visiting the snowy owl, fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Staff are very attentive and polite. Just out of this world, my favourite place to go!!

Fairly busy for a weekday, plenty of seating options and various ‘settings’ - you can sit next to the fire, or in your own booth, or in the main restaurant. Great selection.
Service was excellent. Eve was super approachable, well informed of all the products and always happy to help - going above and beyond to check on availability for our party. Lovely mannerisms and kept us updated about large party bookings.
Selection of food was brilliant. Plenty of options, very prompt service and tasted fresh and well presented.
My wife, 14 Yr old and I stopped here, on route to Scotland, it was just off the A1 and the price for a family room was very good. The location is nice , the pub looks great , inside and out, the food was very good, we had a mix of the menu, which was tradition pub food, no complaints all round. Our room was spacious, clean and a nice bathroom attached, a great place for a stop over or for a base to explore the North East, having found the Snowy Owl, I would recommend to friends and family and would stay at this location again.
Food well presented. Starter was tasty and good portion size. The king prawn and crab pasta was mediocre, if it wasn't for the optional cheese on top it would of been rather bland. My friend had the steak and red wine pie with veg which she really enjoyed. The service was excellent and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere.
5 adults for two course sunday dinner, food was good the puddings were excellent only downside tried to use gift cards to pay the system wouldn't accept them ? Very disappointed as these were a gift to use at vintage inns,but we will know in the future, but good food and nice staff who are polite and helpful worth a visit if your in the area
Food was delicious, decor is lovely and the service was fantastic. Kirsty was a lovely waitress! Super attentive to the kids and was brilliant with us adults; making sure we had exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!

We went out for lunch to the Snowy Owl with my elderly mother. We knew we would be able to park near the door and the menu was the type of food she preferred. I ordered a Caesar Salad which is my favourite meal and was incredibly impressed with the whole meal. Some people would say how can you go wrong with a salad but the lettuce leaves were well coated with Caesar dressing, the chicken was cooked perfectly the Parmesan cheese was well distributed, believe me I have had hundreds of Caesar salads and it was up there! Apparently a talented chef called Jamie prepared my meal 👏👏👏
Enjoyed a truly fabulous Sunday lunch with family. The range of choice was great. The food itself was really good and reasonably priced. We had two roast lunches and one prawn skewers, all amazing. We also took a large dog who was made really welcome, along with all the other doggy ‘diners’. Big shout out for this lovely ‘gastropub’ which ticks all the boxes for a great family food destination. Handy for Northumberlandia too!
My family booked a table here for a meal for my parents 50th Golden wedding anniversary 💛 the team especially Eve could not be more helpful and accommodating. We asked if we could put up a few balloons, small table decorations and bring a cake for the special occasion and Eve went out of her way to check and helped us with the booking. Eve also served us on the evening she was very kind, plesant and attentative even though she very busy. Eve also gave us updates on the food and drinks throughout the evening.
The food was excellent, especially the pie of the day which was beef and vennison - everyone cleared their plates! Thanks again to Eve and the wonderful team at the Snowy Owl we will certainly be back soon!
Fab morning again at the Dogs First Monthly dog walk held by the Snowy Owl, welcoming atmosphere and food and drinks provided by pub and the staff are lovely. We look forward to next walk and our Christmas meal. Snitch here as Scooby Doo. Thanks again for your hospitality. 😊
Absolutely nothing!! From walking in we were all welcomed by staff, Kirsty seemed to go that extra mile with us all (bride team) making us all at ease, food was amazing compliments to the Chef - everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay and already recommended you to others do thank you so much once again
