I recently won a meal for two at the Fountain, and booked for hubby and myself to have lunch there today. We arrived a little early, but Sarah was expecting us, and she and her colleague, also Sarah (!) led us through to the table they had reserved for us. We were made to feel very special as we ordered our drinks and enjoyed them while we chose our meals from the menu, which wasn't easy, as there were a number of our favourites on there! In the end I went for the lovely extra large battered cod and triple-cooked chips, while hubby plumped for the ultimate fish and chips. They arrived piping hot and freshly cooked, looking and smelling very appealing on big wooden boards, and we tucked in happily! Both meals were really delicious, fresh and tasty, with crispy batter and chips, and we are every scrap greedily. Thank you to the Fountain Inn for choosing me as your winner, and thank you very much to the delightful, friendly and very helpful Sarahs, who made our visit a real treat! I highly recommend the Fountain Inn!

Good selection of food which was served well presented, hot and very tasty. Puddings were delicious too! We found the place very child friendly with colouring packs to keep them amused. The bar staff and waiting staff were all really friendly and the place overall was lovely. We will definitely be returning!

The atmosphere and the luxury mac and cheese was absolutely delicious along with the salad and the ciabatta bread you got with it was cooked to perfection, nice and soft and plenty of butter, would defiantly recommend and will defiantly be coming back

A most enjoyable stay at The Fountain Inn while we explored The Isle Of Wight. The food was superb and plentiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable even with two dogs. A nice central location with views across the Solent and handy for the passenger ferry to the mainland which was within walking distance.

Nice vegetarian adoption of traditional English breakfast and a sunny terrace with a fine view to the boats.

Greene King pub next to the RedJet terminal and yard. Parking would be an issue – nothing nearby. Easy access to the High Street and shops etc. Rooms are upstairs, no lift. Large bar area with TV. Very dog friendly... one corner had a bit of an 'aroma' to it. Friendly staff. Never had to wait long for anything. Separate restaurant area with fair priced food and a good choice on the menu. Great breakfasts. Room was not generous but big enough for our needs. Bath! Tea/coffee etc. Would stay again.

Popped in for a spot of lunch where I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Food was speedily served piping hot and presented well. Very tasty. Will pop in again when leaving the island as the terminal is next door.

Really good location, especially the room overlooking the harbour. Friendly and welcoming staff and well planned breakfast, with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal etc as an alternative to the cooked one. Cosy atmosphere and dog-friendly

I stayed for one night with my child and we had the most wonderful stay at a very reasonable price. The location is fantastic and the staff could not have been kinder and more helpful. Our room was nicely furnished and the bed was super comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful location and great atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and dogs are welcome. Only stopped in for cover from the rain but what a gem. Didn't eat but food was available in the rear restaurant. Atmosphere from the locals and tourists made it worth while.

Staff were incredible. First prolonged stay in a hotel with my 20 month old daughter and the staff couldn't do enough. Rooms need a little tlc and modernisation but would definitely stay again

Can't rate the rooms as didn't stay here. Popped in a couple of times for a drink. Atmosphere extremely friendly and they love dogs! Service was friendly and quick. The night we went there was a live singer who was really not bad at all. Manager is really friendly and chatty. We did say when we visit IOW again we will look at staying there 😁

First time we have stayed here. Great location right next to the red jet ferry service at the rear and the front right on the high street. Food was great including the breakfast. Made to feel very welcome. Lovely outside drinking area. Pub is very dog friendly. We would stay again and recommend to family and friends.

Well run hotel/pub. Good food and excellent beer. The breakfasts are superb. Dog friendly. The staff are friendly, pleasant and very helpful. An old character building, so no lift to the hotel rooms. Well worth a stay in the centre of Cowes.
