Had to try this place as I’m a Jolliffe and finally managed to get there on Monday . Easy trip on the red jet straight into cowes from
Southampton then a 10 min walk up the high street then we reached it! Amazing little place with very varied menu and great selection. We decided to go for the bacon and chicken hot baguette and burger and chips. My partner said it’s the best burger he has ever had and the chips are amazing !!! We sat upstairs near the window so we were able to
Enjoy the view of the high street plus have a nice breeze whilst we ate . Great friendly staff and warm welcome . With the food and 3 beers we spent approx £30 which was very reasonable! Only downside was no discount for people of the same surname! But I would defo return again .
What a difference, the new decor is so sympathetic to the original building and upstairs really makes the most of that amazing window. So happy I now have somewhere new to catch up with emails whilst drinking great coffee.
Lovely to have the Barton family back in Cowes at Jolliffes Eatery! So far, I have only sampled the excellent coffee (and a delicious slice of carrot cake - shhh) but I have no doubt that Andrew's high standard will carry through, as usual.
Brilliant, thoroughly recommended
A clear favourite in Cowes
Had breakfast here. More on the expensive side but certainly worth it. Service was very friendly. What I liked most was the food was well prepared and served quickly. Drinks were great and the vibe is great
Lovely spot to sit out & make the most of the sun! Loved the inside decor of old shoe shop - Very impressive! Food was really good, Isle of Wight sausages highly recommended. Asked for iced coffee which wasn’t on the menu and this was perfect, great service ⭐️
Great breakfast in a quirky location. Lovely and fresh, and sweet potato wedges were a great choice. We came early without booking beforehand and easily got a table, but there were several reserved signs for 10/11 so think about booking to avoid missing out!
A lovely place to enjoy lunch with a friend. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The building has a beautiful window on the upper floor & pays homage to its previous life as a shoe shop. I always try to eat here when I visit the Island.

We popped in here for breakfast the other day with the kids. We were quite early, so there weren't any issues getting a table. The staff were super friendly. The food was delicious. The full english I had was great, though I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on the sweet potato wedge in lieu of hash browns, but it's a nice spin none the less. Plenty of options on the menu for all tastes, and the kids were happy with their toast and bacon sandwiches. Definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
The best breakfast you will ever have! The staff is amazingly incredible. They take care of the small details making you feel like home! The food was probably the best breakfast we had ever had - £9 and totally worth the price. Locally sourced ingredients made 100% the difference. The camomille tea was 10/10. The building is amazing inside, super cared and clean!
I cannot recommend enough to make this the first stop of your day!
Popped in yesterday Tuesday for a quick snack, and had a steak wrap with mushrooms and onions. It was lovely. My friend had an omelette, and that was just as good, washed down with a lovely coffee, great staff, all in all a very pleasant visit, will be going agian, maybe try a main course.
A lovely little cafe housed in what was once a Victorian shoe shop. Came here for dinner on our first night on Cowes, and then returned for breakfast the next day. Hot rocks steaks were very enjoyable, and I liked the option that allowed for multiple cuts at slightly smaller sizes for a comprehensive 'steak experience'. The chips were splendid, but the garlic bread was a little limp and doughy. The breakfast was excellent (do treat yourself to a bonus IOW sausage) but make sure that you book in advance as the eatery is not particularly big and it's very popular. Fairly priced, a little more expensive than the greasier spoons down the street, but not overly so and definitely worth it. They also do fruit juice by the pint, which was very welcome indeed.
Going back again for breakfast (they do pancakes too) tomorrow 😅
Beautiful old shoe shop coverted to an eatery.
Great atmosphere.
The food we had was so delicious. We had the soup with a toastie deal.
Recommended to another couple and they enjoyed theirs too.
Staff were very pleasant and professional.
Building was so beautiful
Nothing pretentious about Jolliffes but a great range of lovely food for a quick 'ish lunch. Sandwiches and wraps all freshly made with tasty accompniments. Coffe is really good and a fine range of all other drinks.
