The food was unbelievable and the staff are really friendly.
The waffles with chicken were incredible. The chicken was cooked perfectly and full of flavour!
Trendy place that serves great coffee and alcohol. Will be going back regularly.
Fredwells Llantwit Major - I highly recommend this place as an excellent venue for an intimate gathering.
Both Maria and Lewis created a stunning grazing table which looked and tasted absolutely gorgeous. Both were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too
much trouble. Beth who I liaised with was great with the communication in the run up to the surprise party. The decor inside is very stylish and they didn’t mind me adding some of my own decorations which complimented the room nicely. Thank you all xx
A really lovely spot, with great coffee, friendly baristas, top notch service and a wonderful atmosphere. The sort of place where you can either pop in for an hour or even stay all day. The outside area is beautiful and inside is invitingly decorated with comfortable seating. I organised a Zokit business mixer in the new event space, which is ideal for a range of different uses. I can also highly recommend the halloumi salad and chocolate cake!
I've been wanting to try Fredwell Cafe & Patisserie for a while and today was the day we finally made the trip. It's located just outside of Cowbridge near St Hilary, it's in a lovely area that is surrounded by beautiful countryside (and a new road) to get you there. We booked a table for lunch that was as straight forward as it gets. We were greeted straight away and shown to our booked table, it was a nice and calm atmosphere with awesome decor that I'll definitely take tips from to use in our home.
I ordered The Fredwell which is a toasted stack of sourdough, chicken, bacon, jalapeños, mustard and came with a side salad. It was huge and delicious, as a drink I ordered the Creme Brûlée Latte and was honestly one of the best Lattes I've had. My wife ordered the Croque Monsieur and a pistachio Latte and thought both tasted fantastic. We also treated ourselves to a cherry and almond cake to take back home.
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews, I personally believe the prices, and portion size are fair.
This place was so nice that we are returning again next week with our son to try the pancakes!
Visited for the first time for a Saturday brunch and we were impressed! My husband and myself had the full breakfast, all cooked perfectly and was delicious, nice to see home made baked beans! Other members of our group had the French toast which looked beautiful and another member had the continental-ish which also looked great. We had tea and coffee, service was prompt and friendly. No faults, look forward to returning soon! Thank you Fredwell.
A lovely experience with a lovely outdoor area for sunny days. Great quality and generous portions. Service delightful and - bonus - a shop selling quirky locally-made ceramics and a great cross-section of the best food treats Wales has to offer.
My partner and I have eaten at Fredwell many times since it has opened and it has never failed to disappoint. It isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for, friendly customer service and fresh produce. The food is excellently presented (details on top coffee, the cherry layout on pancakes, perfect for the Instagramers out there). The venue itself is very characterful and rather cosy. It is out of the way, but I personally like this, I’d rather walk my dog (dog friendly too, she loves a puppichino) down the country lane to Fredwell then sit in a chain cafe next to the bus stop. Ignore the 1 star ratings, they would be better going to McDonalds, support your local small business! 🥰
We loved our first visit here, the French Lavender speciality coffee was delicious, no problem to make with oat milk. Menu looks great, will definitely be back. Easy to find.
Had the a fantastic morning at the beautiful little tucked away cafe and patisserie FREDWELL. The food was absolutely stunning and the customer service was outstanding. Will definitely be spreading the word far and wide.
Lovely cafe serving fresh pastries and one of the nicest coffees I’ve had in a while from an independent coffee shop. I’m excited for them to be opening in the evenings soon 😋
Nice spot. Took Texan visitors for breakfast in December. Despite previously booking online, we weren’t expected and a messy table was cleared from the evening before while we waited. Only boiled eggs were on the menu with breakfast dishes (even with the English breakfast option …?) and the kitchen refused to serve eggs any other way which was disappointing. Our Texan guests found the breakfast burrito menu item with boiled eggs most amusing …
Nevertheless, a nice boiled egg breakfast. The chap on the door was really incredibly helpful, especially when one of our party was not too well on leaving (not from the compulsory boiled eggs, I hasten to add).
Thank you for replying. You open at 09.30. We arrived just slightly earlier than our booking at 10.00. As I said, we were unexpected, despite having booked online. ‘The Breakfast’ on your menu would be called an ‘English Breakfast’ anywhere else, except for the compulsory boiled eggs, of course. The flat out refusal from your kitchen there to cook eggs any other way than boiled was disappointing (…how difficult is that??) …but, as you wish .. 🤷🏻♂️.
As I said … nice place (needed a bit of a tidy up from the evening before to sit our party when we arrived well after opening), nice breakfast and wonderful assistance from the chap there ..we couldn’t praise him enough.
We’ve thorough enjoyed breakfast at your Stalling Down cafe where they were only too willing to do eggs how we’d like, despite having the same boiled egg menu items as Pant Wilkin (The Breakfast, Breakfast Burrito, etc.) on their menu ….🤔.
Sorry …. Not meaning to be super-critical here but the tone and inaccuracy of your response didn’t help …..
This cafe/bar has become my favourite place! The service is amazing, the food is incredible and they also make a lovely cup of coffee ☕️ Lovely interior design as well 🫶 A little hidden gem off of the A48 just before Cowbridge surrounded by beautiful scenery and stables, can’t wait to visit again! 😁
Visited a number of times over the past few months. Always find the staff to be really helpful and friendly. Great coffee and ambience. Whoever makes the Welsh Cakes is a star - can't beat them. Look forward to going back soon!
