First time at the restaurant last night for us. Really impressed by the menu, the staff's knowledge and their professionalism. It's a relatively new venture for the restaurant & team, with some teething problems perhaps... While we were there there were two drinks spilt over customers by the waiting staff, unfortunately one of those was a glass of red wine over myself (Brand new clothes potentially stained irreversibly), however the staff dealt with the situation impeccably. They were very apologetic and we're keen to cover the cost of dry cleaning etc. These things happen. It didn't spoil the taste of the meal 😊 The icing on cake for us was the fact that the restaurant allowed us to stop the night in our campervan in the car park too. This for us is a valued benefit. We would happily recommend Hiraeth Kitchen to our friends and family, and would love to come back in the future.

This is a must visit for 2023. Carefully curated 7-course tasting menu in a cosy country pub. The team behind Hiraeth are passionate, creative and are have something a bit special here. Exceptional food, using local Welsh produce in a sophisticated way. We can't wait to return. β™‘

Excellent lunch time meal, piping hot generous portions. 12oz was particularly good, as was the mixed grill and the ribeye. Very good friendly service. Will definitely be back.

This is a charming pub with excellent food and staff who are welcoming, friendly and intelligent. I'm conscious that 'intelligent' is an odd word to use in a review like this but I got the sense when conversing with the staff, particularly our waitress, that they actually listen when you talk to them and any response, whether to a request or general chatter, is considered and smart. I said the food was excellent, and it was. Its also very well presented though this is the kind of place where the chips come in a small metal faux frying basket, custard in a miniature churn and so on. You basically lay out your own food on your plate, but that's fine (they show a level of self awareness in this by referring to the chips as 'posh' chips). The toilets are clean (the gents anyway) and there's good parking, not an easy feat considering the size of the village. I'd go again and recommend you do too.

Fantastic friendly pub - brilliant staff and food extremely tasty. The steak and fish were very good quality savoured every mouthful. Portions were perfect and all served within a very reasonable time. Wanted to keep the camembert wheel a secret- because it was so good I could have eaten that alone with a bottle of red.

Went for Sunday lunch with my family and I have to say it’s the best roast any of us have ever had. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you

We booked a table at the Carne Arms last Saturday for 5 of us plus a dog and we are so glad we chose to spend an evening here. The pub is easy to find and has a large car park at the rear. The staff were absolutely fantastic and the service was great. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive and all meals arrived at the same time. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. We all had a great evening and hope to visit again soon.

Enjoyed a really delicious takeaway Sunday lunch for Mother's Day. Lovely tender beef and lamb and lots of veggies. Home cooked roasties and Yorkshire puds. Still enjoying it hours later with a yummy honeycomb cheesecake! The meal even came with a little box of after dinner mints and a little pack of love heart sweets for my daughter. A nice touch...... Will definitely be back!! Well done Carne Arms 😁

The food was lovely. The service was extraordinary given the random number of people dropping in on new year's day. The owner was professional and went above and beyond to keep everyone informed of the progress of their orders. The resulting food was excellent - hats off to the kitchen team. I look forward to returning.

Great food, can order within a few minutes of pick up. Very safe. Pretty much a full menu. Tom the chef and his assistant Alan are working so hard at the moment keeping the takeaway business going. Options of delivery or pick up are valued in the community and beyond. Thank you.

Return visit to this pub after the pandemic. Now under new management. It has retained its historic charm and ambiance. Clearly well run with imaginative meals and appetising presentation. Generous portions and good quality. This publican knows the pub business.

Good beer and goodish service. A bit slow but the place was busy. Very friendly and accommodating. New regulations to deal with so I can forgive them that. Nice pub with ample parking. A couple of marquees to help with the social distancing so no complaints.
